Q: Does the smell usually get worse after about 12 hours of putting it in, before it starts to work?

Not that we noticed, for us it has worked very well however we did do it as soon as the tank was emptied

Q: Can this be used directly in the septic tank?

Yes it can. I purchased this last year and followed the instructions pouring it directly into the tank in two sessions. I has worked very well since and we are now nearly a year on.

Q: can it be applied via a shower drin pipe instead of the toilet

Yes, it can be applied via inlet into the septic tank, so a toilet, sink, bath or shower is all fine.

Q: Can I use this for the treatment plant with a primary tank?

Absolutely. The product is suitable for all septic tank systems. Just add to the system via a connected toilet as instructed. The beneficial microbes with multiply and spread out throughout the system to wherever they are needed. Please let me know if you want any more help. Thanks, David
