I was looking for shelving to go in my hobby room and match my work benches in there. The solid wood construction and sizing options made this a good choice! I was able to get three different sizes I needed to get a clean install! As far as quality, these are very solid and seem flat enough at least for my needs. Certainly more so than your average piece of timber these days. They're also super thicc. Like my work benches aren't even that thicc. they're all under an inch thicc and this is an inch and a half. In fact, the ONLY thing I wish were different is that you could order this in 0.75" thiccness instead. (While maintaining the 1.5" option as that'll surely be useful for many applications.) Still, they do the job, they're just HEFTY. They do come with holes pre-drilled in the bottom for legs. I'm not sure exactly which legs. This could be good if you have those legs, bad if the holes are gonna bother you and you don't or neutral if you don't care. I'm not bothered by them, but it's worth being aware of. As far as value, they're expensive ofc, but it's good solid wood. I think in today's world they're fairly priced. Maybe even a good deal. Overall I'm quite happy! Especially if you need varying lengths of this kinda surface and want them to match, I recommend it!

Great material. Use the butcher block for the top of my laundry cabinet. It fit perfect and very high-quality. Love it. 😍

I bought the DuraSteel 24x48 Butcher Block Countertop to use as matching tops for two standing desks. I wanted something that looked modern and was real wood. The finish is smooth and even, and cutting them down to size was easy since the block is solid wood all the way through. Once installed, the two desks looked like one large continuous surface. The material feels sturdy and has a nice weight to it, which makes the desks feel more stable. I have used the surface for building computers and other light workshop tasks. It picked up a few small scratches, but the marks blend in with the wood grain and are barely noticeable. I am not sure how it would hold up to long-term kitchen use with moisture and knives, but for desk projects and general work, it has been great. If you are looking for a thick, real wood top for a standing desk or workbench, this is an excellent option for the price

Very nice heavy slab of laminated wood. I use this as a work surface on top of my under counter size refrigerator that isn't under a counter. Appears to be very well made. There is one sliver of filler between two of the laminated boards that kind of surprised me considering the apparent quality of the construction of this thing but perhaps it is a necessary part of constructing such a piece. I hardly doubt it will have any negative effects over time. The quality of the shipping box and packaging was surprisingly good. Better to put some effort into packaging and shipping that get back returns and have unsatisfied customers. At least some vendors get that point. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Durasteel product in the future.

Solid and sturdy

I ordered 2 of these to use with vessel sinks. They are beautiful. Just be aware that if you plan to use them for anything that requires cutting holes that this is very hard wood. It smoked really bad and almost caught fire when cutting the round hole for the sink drain. Still would buy again.

Thought I was buying a quality piece for an appropriate price. The next day a small glue joint opened, not just on one level, but the two layer laminations glue joint unfortunately lined up with each other & the crack is all the way through my top! Sent a message to the company with pictures, still waiting on reply. I’m hoping they show some customer concern? I had been pretty impressed with the table other than this unfortunate situation.
