Tool Manual Mounting Mini Universal Bending Bender

This bender is perfect for bending 1/4" 304 Stainless rod. Fits easily in a vice and works very good. It was well worth the money I spent!

This is a great introductory tool or one-time use or occasional low-criteria bending work. Great value for the price. Limited hardware for varying radius but ample for the price. Only one problem that requires a fix: too much slop in bending arm mount. Bends are not parallel right away. Add a shim to force the bend arm in a planar swing and then all is great!

Just got this delivered today. Went on Youtube to find out how to use it, and 10 minutes later I was bending very nice 1/4" round aluminum rod like it was butter. Handle fits a bit sloppy, but saw the Youtube guy put a thin brass washer under the handle link to get rid of slop, so I did the same and works great.I mounted my unit in a bench vise, and it is surprisingly sturdy and well thought out construction. Simple to use once you get the trick of it, and the dies allow an almost endless amount of possibilities for bending.I mainly work with non-ferrous metals like brass and aluminum, and this tool handles it with ease. For the money, It's a great deal!

Packaging was good. All parts were in cutouts in two closed-cell foam trays. The first thing I did was disassemble the tool and wipe off all the oil meant to keep corrosion down. Reassembled and lightly oiled the necessary points.Everything works as designed. Bent alot of 3/16 rod without any problems. The adjustable slide does hang a little if there is a side load applied. There's a little play in the slide, so it gets wedged in sometimes when moving the slide any distance. Expected with a lighter-duty tool like this, so no problem.I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve and how to do it, but the instructions could contain a little more information for beginners. Something that shows steps to a finished bend or steps for a particular goal, like making an eyelet and reverse-bending to center it. At least a link to a website with various examples would be helpful for beginners.It's worth the money.

The presentation of what this wire bender can achieve is not documented in the product information. It wasn't until I tried using this device that I discovered that you probably cannot bend anything under 1/8 inch diameter. I needed a wire bender for 1/16 inc diameter piano wire to create prop hooks for my model airplanes. Since I have severe arthritis in my hands, I need something that could make the operation easier. This product does not achieve that goal for me.I wish there were ways for those out in the world to provide me with information on a device that can achieve my needs. I'm not sure these reviews can do that.Now for for my opinion on the device. It is solidly built, and Will work with larger hardware that you need to bend. It has its limits, so I advise you to watch what limited videos there are out there.The downside is that the company which sells these does not provide any kind of detailed information on how to use it. It would be nice if they told you what each piece of hardware, and combination of hardware can achieve. It would also be nice if they detailed the limits of the sizes of wires and metal strip that can be bent, and that includes not only the upper limit, but the lower limit,.Anyway, this is something I wasted my money on, and will try to sell at a garage sale. But for those who do have a use for such a device, it is made well enough to achieve you goals

The product came packaged well and was better made than I expected for the price. I used it on some 6mm 303 stainless, which is not the easiest formed material. I had no problems with making the bends. This is not a precision instrument, but is well made for a bender. I believe bending wire/ sheet requires a bit of skill so this product worked fine for me. I also bent some 1/8" steel wire and did not see any wear on the tooling, so I'm assuming it is hardened as stated.

This bender has all the features of the same one sold by MicroMark, with one huge exception: this Alhms tool comes with virtually all the dies and inserts to do all the tool is intended to do. Other sellers offer these "extra" dies as very expensive add-ons. This makes this tool a bargain plus.Only problem is the directions. Once again, Chinese translated to English by a native Swahili speaker just does not cut it. Also, the directions only show how to do one bend with one die. I did find a useful video on YouTube as well as the MicroMark manual, which was helpful to get to the basics. Mostly, get a bunch of wire or metal strip stock and start bending until you get good at it. It's definitely a pro level tool with the corresponding learning curve.
