I have a lot of problems with my hands and have been through so so many can openers..maybe because I'm left handed but more likely they were just terrible can openers although some were expensive. When the oxo one arrived I wasn't holding out much hope as I had been so disappointed before. NO..I was amazed.. You hear a good click when you close it onto the can which tells you it's connected and turning was soooo smooth..I could turn it so easily like a knife through butter..I believe I could spin it with one finger. To get such a great opener at such a low price amazes me as I have spent a lot over the years. It's very comfortable in the hands and is good and chunky with soft grips which are very easy on my hands.. which for me really does help. I also like that it opens right up for Easy access and cleaning. Overall I love this oxo can opener..if it lasts me 6 months I'll be happy 😊.. All my others failed within weeks. Definitely recommend you buy one, especially if you're disabled like me. Also the lid comes off neatly so it fits snugly at the bottom of the empty can!

I have always had a cheap set of can openers which recently got rusty and stopped working. They were very tough to use and hurt my hands. These OXO once’s were a little more pricey but the reviews were great so I thought why not give them a go. Definitely spending a little more makes life easier, as I now realise. These are very smooth and easy to use, they take no time to open the cans and also feel good on your hands as they are easy to grip and non slip. They feel really good quality and sturdy so should last a while.

I love it! I've used this can opener for several months, it works well, it's easy to use. I've been able to open different cans quite easily So far, it hasn't lost its original sharpness

Best can opener ever! Instead of me raving about it, just read all the other reviews. I echo every one of them. The OXO can opener will replace the can opener I have now which I had to pierce the top by hitting it with the palm of my hand . I’m getting older now so can’t be putting up with that. Anyway that hurts. I’m truly astounded how easily it opens tins. Get one..NOW!

Bought this for my mum - whose last tin opener was seizing up -had rusted and failed to stay attached to a tin ( a can of you’re from the other side of the pond), where the teeth failed to keep their bite as you turned the handle. I know a lot of tins now come with ring-pulls - but it’s quite surprising how many still don’t and you often actually pay a bit more for those that do vs those that do not even when it’s the same product/same brand. So this opener is for those who buy the latter. Nothing worse than getting the food shopping home and realising you have a traditional ‘tin’ without a ring pull and your tin opener is rubbish or MIA in your kitchen. First thoughts are its fantastic - the ergonomics are really good regardless of whether you have small hands or large - it’s comfortable to grip, the lever you twist to open a tin is smooth and requires very little effort and the handle (the one I bought was the plastic handle variant) is very comfortable to hold - the last all metal one my mum had - the handle was thin and as a result the pressure on your hand was immense. This one, the pressure is distributed over a wider fuller handle, with less force across the palm. ✋🏻 ✔️ So good - I’m eyeing up my old tin opener which I’ve had for ages and is starting to lose its grip and slip as it tries to free tinned plum tomatoes from their oppressive containers 😉 So in the interest of fruit and veg tinned liberties and in an effort not to contort my hands into further crab 🦀 pincer-like positions while freeing them - I’m keeping this in my wishlist for when mine gives up the ghost. Definitely recommend if you’re in the market for a well designed and good mechanism, low effort tin opener.
