Great Escapes: Italy Hardcover – Illustrated, 1 Jun. 2010

I'm not quite where I want to be in my life, financially speaking, so am unable to fly to Italy and soak up the atmosphere and fill my head with the culture, so the next best option for me is the internet and literature. This book is crammed with a quite delectable collection of images of the architecture, life, and feel of Italy, and just what I need as a source of inspiration for my fourth novel which I have deigned to base partly in a fictitious province of the country. Ideally I would follow in Hemmingway's footsteps and live there for a bit, but unfortunately I still need to eat and pay the bills, so to image books and YouTube videos I resort.

Italy is well-known to have the most romantic places all around the world. This book is full of beautiful and luxurious pictures from the best hotels to stay in Tuscany, Venice, Sicily, among other cities. Italy has such amazing places to visit that when i look the photographs from this book i cannot help but wishing to be at every single place this book recommends. It perfectly captivates the 'dolce far niente' in each photograph. Great Escapes Italy is a perfect book to have in your coffee table.

Beautiful book which gives a really good overview of Italy's beautiful regions. A really good buy for the price.
