Bought this for my dad, as I'd bought him a journal as well for father's Day. He absolutely loved it and kept playing with it and talking about it hours after he received it!

I originally ordered the 2 Pack Multitool Pen Set thinking that it would be handy to keep one pen in my purse and the other in the car console. The set arrived securely packaged. I opened the box, removing all the parts. Everything was accounted for. I tried to read the information on the box, which was difficult as the illustrations and text were white on a black background. Finally, with a magnifying glass under strong light, I was able to read the instructions. Not true instructions, so not really that helpful. My husband is a little bit of a tool geek, so he took a look at the two multitools for me. His assessment was that the pens' weight and size were a plus and that the rulers on each case (both metric and standard) could be handy. He checked the level for accuracy and said it was very close. The LED pen light was a nice feature... But, why include a bottle opener, and why not make the tiny screwdriver heads easier to switch out? While the low price point might be attractive, ultimately it would be better economy to keep one's $14 in his/her pocket and save up for a better quality multitool that isn't so gimmicky and awkward to use. I could only agree in the end.

I love everything about these pens, I do alot of fine finish work on guns, knife handles and so much more. These are perfect for my daily use.

Multitools range from one or two extra things a standard thing can do to almost a boxful of extras. This set is toward the lower end of that range. That said, it is a solid set if you have someone in your life who can use the features offered here.The package includes 2 metal pens, 3 batteries, and 2 pen refills.The pens are hexagonal and 4 of the sides have rulers on them. One ruler is 4 inches, 1 is 1/100th meter, 1 is 1/200th meter, and one is 1/300th meter. I don't understand why those were the choices, as it seems to defy the whole everything-is-based-on-10s aspects of the metric system of measurement -- but if you need that level of measuring, these would be useful.One pen has a small led light bulb at the top of it. Click it and it turns on; click it again and it turns off. Unscrew the base of that pen and you find a cup that contains a small 2-ended screwdriver bit - one end flat, the other Phillips head. That pen also has a cut out section near the middle that is intended to be a bottle opener.The other pen is a bit shorter, which it can be because it does not have a bottle opener section in the middle or a light at the top. If you unscrew the top of this pen, you find a second 2-ended screwdriver bit just like on the first pen. You will need pliers to pull the bit out and flip it over, if you want to use the other end.The pen refills are designed to fit the pens, so they are shorter than a standard pen refill. The batteries are for the LED light at the top of the larger pen. You only need 1 at a time and it comes with one already installed, so these are 3 spares.Overall, I like the set. It's solidly made and does what it was designed to do. I suggest you leave the pen refills and the batteries in the foam rubber and that in the box, unless you have a better way of storing these things for future use.

These are always fun gifts to give because they are useful and who doesn’t love to have an all in one tool on hand?! I had to order extras because everyone always takes mine
