You Sexy Thing: The Best Of Hot Chocolate

If you thought you liked Hot Chocolate, buy this album.
I tried this album out on YouTube before I bought it, to see if I wanted it. The YouTube compression spoiled the album to the point I wasn't sure. Anyway after thinking more and knowing I liked HC, I bought it.What a deal!£4.99 for all this music.I played it first out three albums that I bought together, because I was keen to hear it. There are 38 tracks on this double CD, and I liked 36 of them. That is value. The hits were always great. However , even HC's run of the mill love tunes on the 2xCD, had something special and magical about them. Can't recommend it highly enough. Do yourself a favour and buy this double CD. There are even other single CDs of HC, that cost more. From my point of view knowing this double CD, it's the one to get.

So glad that I did
I only bought this for a couple of tracks that I wanted. So glad that I did.I like most of the tracks on disk 1 but love every single one on disk 2!A lot of them I've not heard before, even though I 'grew up' with Hot Chocolate music. Can't recommend this album enough.

A great double Hot Chocolate CD!
This CD is very good value for money with plenty of the band's best hits. Didn't realise they had done so much!!However, the only negative points are - the great "Going Through The Motions" is not present - and the great "Put Your Love In Me" should be on CD1 not CD2 to keep the main 70s hits in order.

Pure nostalgia
All there hits appear to be on this collection. You never realise they had so many great sounds until you buy this and listen to it right through

"The Fishing Boat Song" is here too - of course
Been a fan of Hot Chocolate from the days of "Rumours". Got to say their 70's stuff was my preference, especially classics like "Emma" and "A child's prayer". Oh and how can one forget"I believe in Makerels". Had the honour of shaking Errol Brown's hand at a gig about 20 years ago - lovely human being and a great humanitarian. BTW: Where is his Knighthood?

Fantastic double album
Love the way this has been packaged. Loads of the older songs, (19, in fact) on Disc 1, then some newer hits on the second CD, again, 19 tracks. I loved their old style of singing. Thrilled with the album. It's the best 'Hits' album of Hot Choc's that I've ever seen. I won't run the tracklist since someone else has already done it.

A Brilliant Hot Chocolate Hits Album.
So sad to hear of the death of the brilliant Errol Brown, and had to buy this absolutely brilliant Hot Chocolate Compilation. It is such a pleasure to hear his brilliant singing talent, recognised originally by the genius that was John Lennon.

A must for rock & roll librarys!
It is a difficult thing to do when trying to compile a " Best of" or " Greatest Hits" of any highly talented & prolific band & succeed in gathering all of the great songs...even on a 2 C.D. set. This is one of those rare cases when they accomplished that goal. Now I am sure that there are some hard core fans of Hot Chocolate that may argue that one of their favorites are missing , but for the casual fan this collection will more than satisfy & will more than likely introduce them to some great songs they may never have heard before. I think it was a genius move to put all 38 songs on this collection that entered the charts for Hot Chocolate in the U.K. where this band is from! The opening song " You Sexy Thing" was amazingly a top ten smash hit in 3 different decades! Other songs in this collection were hits for other groups that did cover versions of Hot Chocolates hits like the song " Brother Louie" which The Stories took to number 1 on America's Billboard chart. And if it wasn't for Hot Chocolates song " Could Have been A Lady" the Canadian Guitar band April Wine might not have broke through in the U.S. as April Wine took " Could Have Been A Lady" to #21 on America's Billboard chart from April Wines debut Album! Actually it is a great testament to a singer/songwriter to have bands succeed with covers of their songs. Honestly I never realized Hot Chocolate was a U.K. band from Brixton until I purchased this collection & read the booklet included. Songs like " Every 1's a Winner" & " Emma" are not only instantly memorable, they are also timeless. Hot Chocolate's lead Singer/songwriter Errol Brown has the ability to write songs that cover the full range of human emotions. songs like " It Started With A Kiss" will bring back memories of every mans first girl friend...and songs like " Man To Man" touch on problems many a man may have gone through at some point in their life. I guess what I am trying to say is when I sat down uninterrupted and really listened to all 38 songs in this collection it was like a emotional rollercoaster & Ice cream for the ears all at the same time! I knew there were songs on here I would really like to own , but I was very happily surprised at how talented this band really was & how much of their music never made it a crossed the pond! From a commercial stand point this is truly THE BEST OF HOT CHOCOLATE. For those building serious Rock & Roll or just Music Library's this is a must have! The sound quality is great, the booklet is informative and most important the music is outstanding!

Super CD's
