Good powered aerial
Bought this to pair with an Avtex TV in our motorhome. It seems to work very well. It comes with a couple of mounts, one which can be screwed in place, one with a sucker on it. It has to be powered to work properly, this can be accomplished either with a separate power supply (included), or if you are using an Avtex TV, power can be supplied directly from the aerial socket on the TV, there is an option in the setup menus to turn it on.We have only used it a couple of times but it seems to pick up signal really well, once on a campsite known for its poor signal, so I'm happy. I have only used it inside the motorhome so far, so can't comment on how well the sucker works outside, but it seems as good as any satnav mount I've used to me. I doubt it would stay in place in high winds, but I wouldn't expect it to.

Works well for a simple aerial
The suction cup doesn't stick very well to anything except the cleanest and smoothest surface. It would be better with a soft, high viscosity, suction cup to replace the relatively inflexible one. The ability to power the aerial amplifier from an Avtex TV is very useful and seems to work quite well to boost a weak signal. This aerial won't perform like a Yagi, but its compact design is a good compromise for occasional use.

Great aerial for portable use where space is limited.
I think some reviewers have unrealistic expectations of this aerial. My experience is that it works really well and will usually get me a good signal just stuck on the outside of the motorhome window. It is an "active" aerial, which means that you have to either use the supplied mains adapter, or have a TV which will supply the voltage required via the antenna cable (such as an Avtex). It helps to have a smartphone app which will tell you the direction of the strongest TV transmitter to enable you to put the aerial on the correct side of your vehicle (if you aren't mounting it up on the roof). Bear in mind that this performs very well for a small, portable aerial. Don't expect it to perform like a 72 element beam and don't expect it to get you a signal in the middle of the Brecon Beacons.

ok, but not brilliant, easy to lose mounting screw/nut
Quite big and looks well built, Used it with an Avtex tv, but had to bypass my caravans Signal amplifier to get the power to the antenna (it's amplified if fed power from the tv) the power adapter cable wouldn't reach when I used it with my inbuilt cabling and amplifier. There was definitely an improvement compared to my Avtex twig antenna on top of caravan , but not as good as I can get with my vision plus Directional.Just one silly design fault, the screw for tightening the antenna in position goes into a small nut, which is not captive, and fell out as soon as I unscrewed it to pack the antenna away. Its very small and you can imagine how long I spent looking for it on my caravan pitch when it dropped out on the ground. It's quite small. Found it but was very lucky! If you lose it you cant tighten the antenna in position.Good selection of mounting options in the kit, Sucker seems to hold well.

Great Signal
Bought this to use with our Avtex TV in the motorhome. So far we have always managed to get some channels on our travels in Ireland. Recently we were able to get channels when other people with fixed roof aerials couldn’t. You do need to play about a bit to get the signal, it works inside most times but in some areas you do need to put it outside. Well worth the cost!

Five star aerial
The Avtex stick aerial fitted to our caravan is useless even using a booster. Reading reviews I decided to give the STH 3000 a try. Delivered next day and assembled in minutes. Powered through the coax cable into our Avtex tv, it picked up 96 channels, even with the aerial not directly facing the nearest transmitter on the Isle of Wight, all brilliant picture quality. A great stand by aerial to use when we are not on Caravan Club sites which usually have a tv booster connection. Best buy.

Excellent Reception
I bought this to replace a similar model which is now 8 years old and falling apart. Proving you power this aerial (through tv or usb), the reception is really good. I’ve learned to spot which direction local aerials are pointing, the copy that with mine. A little tweaking may be needed if reception isn’t perfect, but I’ve never failed. The only weakness seems to be the suction mount, which often takes a few minutes to recover to a flat profile. If you try repositioning the mount, it won’t form a decent vacuum and the bracket falls off. Come on, Avtex, you can do better than this!12 days later… the white plastic casing in the centre (housing the circuit board) has split at the seam. I’ve had to tape it up for the time being as I am on holiday, but am disappointed with this fault.

Buy it!.
This turned out to be just what I ordered and it works perfectly. The suction cup is brilliant, it sticks to everything in my motorhome and is very secure. The directional position I choose to use is perfect and the reception is very good. Well worth the research and cost to buy. I would recommend it to anyone.
