Could have been brighter
Not as bright as I expected it to be. Maybe because of the colour temperature, it looks quite a bit yellowish. But it does the job for 30 quid I bought it for, easy to install.

Really nice light, with a couple of reservations
First and foremost this is a really nice light. Good brightness, nice looking, motion sensor works pretty well (it doesn't come on in the day unless you ask it to etc), it seems good quality etc - I don't regret the purchase at all as I was generally aware of the issues before I bought it.But, in case these things are make or break for you. these are the two issues I found1) Installation is a little fiddly. Because of the way the wires are placed in the back they move around quite a bit when you're trying to grab them to connect them in such a way that it's weirdly hard to physically connect it and it can be a bit frustrating. Luckily I had help from someone with quite a bit of experience.2) (This is a biggie) There is no way to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor on the light itself. It doesn't claim to have this functionality anywhere, but I know from reading other reviews that people were expecting this anyway. My light is on the front of my house and easily - EASILY - picks up cars passing on the road about 25-30ft away. I guess this light way primarily designed for back gardens where this wouldn't be an issue most of the time, so if (like me) you want it for the front of the house and you don't have a long drive, just bear in mind that you will need to do a bit of bodging on the sensor by placing a strip of black tape across it if you want to reduce the distance that it picks up things.Overall, I'm really happy with the light. Like I say, I was aware of the issues before I bought it so I wasn't surprised (this was the only design that we liked so we accepted the shortcoming). But I would really, really urge Philips to introduce an adjustable sensor in any future versions of this model.

Excellent, would buy again, straightforward to fix, fitting tips included in review.
Bought to replace a 60w incandescent light which didn't have a PIR detector controlled by switch by front door, which was fine but coating starting to spell.Relatively straightforward to fit and setup, some tips for that later. Looks fine, gives out a nice warm light, was concerned it might not be sufficiently bright, but in practice it is fine. The light at the top reflects off the inside of the 'glass' and gives a feeling of the old gas lights. It's mounted about 2m from driveway height, no more, the driveway is about 11m to the footpath and 12+ metres to the roadside kerb. It provides sufficient illumination, plenty when the street lights are off and we are in darkness. The drive slopes very slightly down to the street, the detector doesn't pick up traffic driving past, picks up pedestrians on the pavement at the edge of the property, and when you stop to reverse into the drive it illuminates handily in time before you cross the kerb. Cannot fault the light or installation. It's left powered on at the switch and it didn't take long to set the light threshold or timer. At minimum setting the timer is inconveniently short but just above mid point is fine for us.Fitting, some have said it's fiddly, didn't find that, but some hints. The unit is fastened to the backplane by two stainless hexbolts which are held in place by the backplane being screwed up to the mounting surface. If you are fixing to a brick or stone wall choose your position so that these hex bolts are not aligned with the pointed joints but will be hard up against the brick.Secondly, when you make holes in the backplate for the fixing screws make sure the hole is elongated, the backplate has a shaped moulded section to guide you in this, I used a Dremel type tool to do this. If you make the holes in the shape of slots, once you have drilled the wall, inserted fixing plugs and screwed the fixing screws almost tight, the slot shape of the holes you have made allow you that final few degrees of rotation so you can get the fixing plate exactly right so the lamp when fastened will be perfectly vertical. Finally the only fiddly bit consists of the rubber sealing gasket between light and mounting plate. If you smear a little vaseline or other similar substance when you fit the gasket then it will hold in place while you're fitting and tightening the dome bolts to hold the light unit in place. So 5 star, thoroughly recommend it, there are a lot cheaper lights out there, and more expensive too, admittedly, but would buy again.

Nice Welcoming Light
I ordered this light to replace an old carriage lantern which was looking old fashioned and didn't work as well as it used to. The light was easy to fit as I used the existing wiring so it was fitted and working in a very short amount of time, the instructions for adjusting the time the light stays on and the light setting at which it comes on could have been clearer, I ended up just trying different settings until I got what I wanted. The unit is made of plastic so hopefully will weather better than a metal one would, it's light weight and in my opinion looks modern, the light it gives off is a warm welcoming colour and the PIR works well, the only thing that I would change is the ability to change the length at which it detects objects as this cannot be changed, I would make this shorter so it just picks up people on the drive rather than passing cars, we live in a quite cul-de-sac so it's not an issue as there isn't a lot of passing traffic to set off the light if we were in a busier location though I would say it would be a more important feature and that's my reason for not giving a 5th star .

Neat looking light
We have two of these for an alley, they look quite good and are low enough profile not to stick out too far. They're not super bright, which is OK for us, but if you're looking for something to light up a large area you'd need a more powerful option.
