Excellent - re : AT95E Stylus - buy it!
The Audio-Technica AT95E stylus has excellent sound quality for the price, (although at the lower end of the market), but still perfectly happy with this purchase. Very impressive sound on Whafedale DIAMOND 12.1 speakers. It's very easy to install.Speaking as an established audiophile, make sure you setup the tonearm correctly first (weight in grams should be identified for correct balance control). Recoomend useing a 'protractor' to make sure the stylus is in perfect allignment. Either a Lofgren A or a Baerwald. I use both types as a double-check. These can be downloaded easily from Vinylengine. (Ensure that the line length in CM matches your print for the correct scaling of the protractor. Its a good idea to laminate the protractor once printed out, and then punch out the hole for the spindle on your deck. I have the brilliant ARISTON AUDIO deck made in Scotland (but now dissolved) with a Linn Basik Plus tonearm fitted. You can look up tonearm setup on Youtube, recommend CHESHIRE AUDIO - iN In summary, my mantra is "Vinyl is FINAL, Vinyl is CLASS !"

QUALITY
My Linn Axis turntable hasn't had a new stylus for years. I never noticed the sound quality had deteriorated so much. A friend who hadn't heard it for years came around and pointed it out to me. I looked around for a decent priced good stylus and that's what this is. It came the next day and was fitted straight away. My turntable now sounds fantastic again. Thanks Amazon.

Replacement stylus for a classic cartridge
I thought that my AT95 cartridge needed renewal after 8 years of use but it didn't. It just goes to show that I don't play LPs very often, as I much prefer digital recordings which measure and sound better than vinyl to my ears. However, playing LP records is still enjoyable for different reasons. When I changed the stylus I noticed that originally the stylus was misaligned and should have been showing all sorts of faults according to "audiophiles" writing on forums and HIFI magazines. I corrected the alignment and played a record and hey ho I could not hear any difference between the old and new styluses.I then compared the inferior AT95E cartridge and stylus to a superior VM95EN cartridge and stylus. Both cartridges were aligned "correctly". The differences were not night and day. as they were subtle. I played a well recorded orchestral work to make my comparison. I also played the digital equivalent and felt that it was more true to life but it was not a night and day difference. The AT95 cartridge is proof to me that you don't need to pay £2,000 for a cartridge and £10, 000 for a turntable to get acceptable sound quality. An Audio Technica , budget Technics or budget Rega turntable will do the trick, and along with a classic AT95E or an ATVM95E cartridge.

ATN95E Stylus review
I bought this to fit on an old Linn K9 cartridge as a back up in case of problems with a goldring 1042 cartridge which was showing it's age. After bending the Goldring stylus whilst clumsily removing it , an expensive accident ! But it probably did me a favour as an old cartridge starts to sound overly bright and distorted I fitted the K9 with an ATN95 E stylus to an Akito arm on a Linn Sondek. It's fairly straight forward but make sure you note the colour codes of the four wires going in to the cartridge and follow the same for the new cartridge. I would advise using tweezers to remove the contacts from the cartridge and don't hold it by the wires as you will pull it off the contacts. Also invest in a stylus protractor and a stylus balance if funds permit which make the job much easier and quicker. I did the job in under half an hour and was spinning vinyl again. I set the tracking weight to 2g but somewhere in between 1.5 g and 2.5 g is specified. The sound is clean and crisp and quite natural. It certainly breathed life in to the K9 cartridge again . I personally don't think it is up to the Goldring 1042 stylus but that is ten times the price . The background noise of the ATN95E is more than my other cartridge but let's be honest the ATN95E is a good budget stylus for the price and puts a good fight up. If you have an old K9 cartridge it is certainly worth trying as new stylus are not manufactured for this any more. If you are a vinyl nut I suspect you will be looking at more expensive cartridges but certainly give this a try as for a shade over twenty pounds this maybe good enough for you. The stylus comes off fairly easily but push it downwards in a vertical manner and not sideways as some stylus come off. The last thing is you will have an overhang of the stylus on a K9 cartridge as it was not strictly designed to fit it but all in all recommended so spin the black circle.

Perfect K9 replacement for the occasional vinyl user
I bought this as a replacement for an ancient K9, which had more or less lost its high frequency output. As it's so long since I last heard the K9 at its best I can't really compare between the two but the A-T sounds good to me. The music sounds natural, fast and crisp without being overburdened with bass. As you may have gathered I haven't listened to vinyl much over the last few years but I will more now that the 'dek has been returned to "better than digital status". I think that, if I was a serious vinyl junkie, I should have replaced the cartridge with something expensive but, as an occasional user, this stylus is perfect. Last but not least, the stylus was very easy to fit.Dunlop Systemdek IIX, Linn Basik Plus, Myryad MI-120, QED Silver Anniversary XT, Epos ES14
