Maclean MCE 84 Touchless Infrared Switch 5A 110-240V / AC 50/60Hz (MCE84) White

I've used several of these infra red switches for various applications, all have worked perfectly. These are great where a discrete, non contact switch is required. I have used these for bedside light switching, under cupboard worktop lights in kitchens, illumination of under cupboard vanity illumination in bedroom and en-suite bathroom where a touch switch could be potentially dangerous if touched with wet hands. The it switch "button" can be discretely hidden, this giving projects a clean, professional look with the absence of an ugly switch visible. The detection range of the IR sensor is very short, so false switching is eliminated, a simple waft of a hand across the sensor at close range ( within 150mm) effortlessly operates the switch on or off. There is a low audible "click" when the switch is operated if you listen for it, but soon ignored once your brain gets used to it....certainly a less obvious click than a regular light switch for example. I recommend these switches and will certainly be using more for future projects.

Discreet IR switch that is simple to fit and reliable

I've been doing a bit of refurb in our kitchen which included adding lights under the wall cabinets to illuminate the worktops. This seemed an excellent way to operate those lights given that your hands may be wet or covered in flour, pastry etc. The device is neatly hidden away by the pelmets and operates when a hand gets within about 3" of the sensor. It's the perfect range as it means you don't accidentally activate it when working on the work surface below. My only small gripe is that there isn't a better way to mount the sensor. It has some strange projections on it but there's no mounting bracket or any other obvious way to attach it. I thought about all sorts of elaborate ways to do it but in the end just clamped the wire to the bottom of the cabinet with a cable clip and bend the wire down 90 degrees so the sensor pointed downwards. All a bit amateurish but does the job. Overall though, very pleased with the way this works and, as a bomus, the rest of the family love our new "posh lights"!!!

What a game changer. Fitted to an illuminated mirror - no more grubby cord hanging just waft your hand underneath. Wish I'd come across these years ago!

Perfect replacement and fitted in 15 minutes. Hopefully will last as long as the original!

I used this switch to control the light on a bathroom cabinet. The wiring was straightforward and the unit was easy to install, The light can now be safely operated with wet or dry hands. Highly recommend.

Used as a replacement for a failed SAIF HZK218C-2 mounted on a bathroom HIB Globe 50 Mirror 78500000. It's an expensive mirror, so quite chuffed to have saved it with 10 quids but let's see how long it'll last now :D

Interruttore di qualità e preciso nel funzionamento col movimento della mano a 7 - 8 cm... Mi piace che funzioni a 220v, in questo modo va posizionato prima dell'alimentatore a 12v se si vogliono alimentare dei LED, cosicché l'alimentatore nn rimanga sotto tensione se nn sta lavorando.
