How to Draw Portraits, Faces and Heads

Bought this for my 10year old granddaughter she is very artistic and I want to encourage her. Very descriptive excellent value for money.

A4 in size and quite thin but is very useful as a tutorial to draw portraits. Good value for money.

I got this book for my best friend as she was just starting to learn how to draw and she said this book is a great help and she is going to get the other book in this set.

Bought this for someone who was taking up drawing again after a long layoff. They found it very useful- in particular the construction and proportioning of heads and faces. Good buy for the money.

It's not exactly a bad book, but it's not very informative either. Has tips like 'Use perspective when drawing eyes from the side' without telling you what that means or how to do it. Another how to is to 'Use construction lines' with just one basic picture showing where they go and no further explanation. I'm sure someone will find it helpful but it's just not near enough of a drawing lesson to learn from.

Great once you've got the basic drawing techniques. Simple, self explainatory, actual measurements not given, would have been helpful.

様々な人物の肖像から、始まり 材料の違いに依る印象の違いから 頭蓋骨の正面・側面が掲載されている。側面図を見ると 頭頂から、顎までの長さと、後頭部から鼻骨・顎の骨が、大体同じ 位になっている。この事を知るだけでも人物を描くのには参考に成ると思う。 それと、顔を覆う筋肉図の掲載、特に、人物の側面から描く場合 頭頂から鼻・顎・耳の後ろを結ぶ楕円形と、後頭部から頭頂、額、 眼下の下を通過して、後頭部に戻ってくる楕円形が掲載されて、 人物をやや、斜め上から見た形状・正面上から見た形状、顔をやや下から 見た形状を２つの楕円形で説明してあり、頭部の形状が理解しやすく成っている。 顔の各パーツの説明、面取りの方法で理解しやすく説明している。 最後に、様々な人物のスケッチが掲載されて頭部の、構造が理解しやすくなっている。 全部で３１ページで廉価で購入しやすい。人物の顔・頭部に関心のある人なら 持っていれば、参考に成ると思う。

Great book and well explained with examples.

Es un libro para pincipiantes escrito por un principiante. El osado autor carece de suficientes dotes para el dibujo como para escribir un libro de técnicas de dibujo. El dominio del dibujo deberia ser exigible para enseñar sus técnicas. Los ejemplos son acartonados, rígidos y sin vida. Las expresiones faciales que intenta enseñar son muecas estereotipadas, carentes de naturalidad. El trazo de sus dibujos carece de soltura, está demasiado medido y agarrotado; es una coleccion de estereotipos definitivamente; tienes la sensación de hojear una mala copia de un manual de los años 50 hecho por un alumno mediocre. Esta publicación es un ejemplo más que nos muestra el oscuro lugar hacia dónde se dirige el mundo editorial y el marketing.
