Children's animation featuring the girls of DC Comics in their teenage years. At Superhero High it's time for the annual 'Hero of the Year' competition with Wonder Woman (voice of Grey Griffin), Supergirl (Anais Fairweather), Batgirl (Mae Whitman) and their friends all competing for the honour. But the villainous Dark Opal appears with a plan to ruin the competition. Can the heroes stop him before it's too late?

Brilliant - Wish the series was on mainstream TV
Both of my children absolutely loved this film and have watched it quite a few times now. I know that there are already webisodes out there for DC Super Hero Girls and that these have been out for some time now but I do hope they make a regular TV show as both of my children (boy and girl) would love to watch more and we wouldn't really watch episodes on the web due to their age.I believe there will be a new film called DC Super Hero Girls Galactic Games released later in 2017 (probably the end of December from Amazon's product page) but its a long time to wait for something which is obviously very popular at the moment so hopefully the makers and TV stations may get together. The film is about Super Hero High School where both boy and girl super heroes attend but the film centers on a few female super hero characters; Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Bumblebee and Batgirl with Harley Quinn, Katana, Big Barda and Poison Ivy having sort of front background roles. The beginning of the film sees the four main characters hunting for an intruder at Super Hero High and finding known criminal Big Barda has managed to get into the school but all is not as it initially appears. The main story line for the film is that the annual hero of the year award is to be awarded soon and the four main girls are wondering between each other whether Wonder Woman or Bumblebee will get it but the villain Dark Opal has other plans for Super Hero High school and sets about with his shadow creatures stealing some of the heroes most prized possessions to form a weapon. As I said above both of my children loved this film and personally I love that the focus is being put on super hero girls for a change (although there are still some boy characters at the school too) so fingers crossed the shows make their way to TV at some point soon. Other than the shadow creatures and the two villains being well villains, I didn't see anything in the film that I thought was really bad but obviously its up to your own judgement if you wish a younger child to watch it although both of mine have watched it a few times and they are both younger than the likely target age of six years old and didn't find it too scary to watch.

My three year old daughter absolutely loves this movie, she has wanted it for a while after catching the short cartoons on TV, it has a catchy tune and great storyline involving Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee and many other DC characters.Highly recommended.
