and he greeted it with joy. Hopefully it will help improve his English
This was a present to an eleven year old boy on his birthday, and he greeted it with joy. Hopefully it will help improve his English, as he is a little weak in this language. His Welsh is fine, but his English needs a bit of attention. Yes, this is a Welsh-speaking part of Wales, and the young man in question is one of my friends' offspring. I have read this book myself in the past, and thoroughly enjoyed this Tintin tale. It is one of Herge's masterly tales. I have been familiar with Tintin for over fifty years, and the memory still pleases. Not only might it be a means to improve knowledge of the English language, but a very enjoyable story to read, and attractive colour cartoon book as well. I think that the well crafted Tintin still appeals. I recommend this book and other Tintin books to all who like a sense of adventure, no matter what age the reader.

Part 1 of the lunar double bill for Tintin
This is part 1 of Tintin's lunar adventure. Both books were my favourite Tintin books when I was a child and it is nice to have them both again. I will not go over the plot as others have done this but surface to say all the great characters are here Tintin, captain Haddock, Prof Calculus and also of course the usual assortment of swarthy foreign villans - would it be published today one wonders? Bearing in mind it was writen long before space flight became a reality (let alone travel to the moon) it is rather accurate in detail although the design of the rocket is dated.Great fun - get both read them and then give them to your children or if older your grand children.

A great read
I bought this for my son because I remember it as a classic read when I was a boy. And I have to say - 45 years down the line - my son found it a great read!

As a child, I remember going to the library ...
As a child, I remember going to the library and checking out the Tintin books and being drawn into the adventure, wishing I could be Tintin. Now in my late 20's, I have decided to purchase all the Tintin books so that when my 2 year old is a bit older, I can share the world of Tintin with him :-D

7 year old loved it!
I was uncertain whether it would be age appropriate for my 7 year old god son. It was, his eyes lit up - perfect and will give him years of joy to come too.

All Tintin books are excellent reads, so long as you take each text bubble serious and don't skip !
These Tintin books, any of then, really, make for *excellent* bedtime reading material to the kids. When you do is you lay on your front and hold out the book. The kids next to you can watch the pictures along as you read the bubbles to them. It's a beautiful thing !

Big and beautiful book
Love these books, big and beautiful. I bought it for my 8 year old son. He loves the cartoons and movie. It is at the top end of his reading ability, but worth the effort to read. He loves these books. Came super fast through amazon.mx, arrived in less than a week. I read online that it is not scientifically accurate and explained that to my son, he didn't really care.
