Star rating: my rating ignores durability because I have not owned this long enough to say, but the watch doesn't feel flimsy or look cheap. Astonishingly good value if it lasts (tip: winding at roughly the same time each day helps manual watches keep time & last). Package: came in presentation box with foam insert, inside an Amazon box. Accuracy: accurate over 24 hours & needs daily winding anyway. Appearance: shiny as if chromed but presumably just highly polished. Window (described as glass) felt plastic at first but both it and case back came covered in protective clear plastic film. Size: as described (approx 45mm diameter/15mm thick), which is smaller than some pocket watches but notrmal looking. Chain is perfect length to hook in third buttonhole up if watch is in a waistcoat pocket. Practicality: skeleton watches look nice but are harder to read (black minute/second hands are mostly, hour hand is entirely, over the mechanism not the surrounding white card). Not a problem, just a fact. Use tips: pushing winder centre in releases case front AND back. Holding one closed as you do so if you only want the other side to open is easy, though. Turn knurled ring to wind, pull it out to adjust time (push back in afterwards). Bonus: with front and back of case open watch stands upright and stable as a bedside clock. Wind up watches are really useful travel clocks because you're never caught out by a dead battery, & can just reset the time if you do forget to wind.

I bought this because I was fed up with quartz watches - none of the many I've had have worked properly after the battery has been replaced. It seemed from the reviews that it would be better quality than one of the cheap wind-up watches available.It arrived mid-morning yesterday - two days after it was dispatched - and is still keeping good time after about 26 hours, though it did need a fairly full wind again this morning. I had hoped that the back would open fully to allow for regulation, but there is a clear window there so you can't get inside. It doesn't look like it's going to need regulating, though.The one I received is slightly different from that shown in the pics - there's no engraving on the back, either inside or on the back of the case. I can live with that. The supplied chain is heavy-duty, with the clip on the end a little on the tight side; it's not going to slip off a belt loop.It'll take a bit of getting used to, especially reading the time with the case closed, but I now shouldn't need to wear a wristwatch often. It looks good too.Edit: After using the watch every day since purchase, about six months, the winder has packed up - it turns freely and doesn't engage the winding mechanism. Pity.Edit 2: Excellent customer service from the vendor, who have sent me a replacement - and they didn't ask me to send back the old one. The new one DOES have engraving on the inside back. It's going to be dress use only now, though; I don't think I'm going to risk every day use.

The pocket watch is lovely & very pleased with it but the instructions included were for a wrist watch which wasn’t very helpful

Small to read on the closed face but still a nice watch

I bought this for my stepson for his 30th birthday, he wears suits to do presentations and wanted a pocket watch that you could see the inner workings of. He loved it, it comes with a chain in a box and my husband wanted to get it engraved , the man at Timpsons suggested that he gets it engraved by hand as he was worried he would bend/dint the back. So we decided not to engrave to be on the safe side. It really is a lovely looking watch and good value for money.

No worries if the battery is going to give out, it ticks very fast, but it is accurate. To hear the ticking you really have to hold it to your ear, so not bothersome. Very classy to look at. To look at it looks way more expensive. When you start looking at it in detail you can see why it's not 100's if pounds. But it's probably only going to get warn a handful of times so for what I want it for it's perfect.

A good watch keeps good time just needs to be wound on daily. More stylish way to check the time than pulling out the smart phone
