Q: Does it have a clock and if so, can you see the tine when the radio is on?

Yes it does have a clock but only visible if set to 12Hour function not 24hour function

Q: Has anyone used this without the antenna? I am wondering if it would make a good garden radio.

Why would you want to use it without the antenna?It is only a wire which comes out the back of the radio you wouldn't get get FM without it.I think you could use it in the garden but I use a Roberts DAB in the garden which I find good as you can get all the Dab stations as well as FM the Sony is only FM and AM
