The 100: Season 4 [DVD] [2017]

Another dark season, all concerned under threat as nuclear reactors are about to melt. A frantic search to find a bunker able to hold as many as possible for the five years before the planet is habitable again. Meanwhile there is conflict between the various tribes, not to mention serious disagreements within each one. Survivors of the original one hundred remain key to it all. Their leaders Clarke and Bellamy are hard put to know how best to proceed, they haunted by memories of so many past mistakes.Thirteen episodes. Even when watched in quick succession, close attention is needed for so much can confuse. (At least there is no more of that bewildering City of Light storyline.) As ever, the special effects impress as do many stunts - those fights requiring much rehearsal. Deaths abound, major characters included. An exciting finale, although some may regret the tagged on last minute or so.Interesting bonuses tell how the series has evolved. The Comic-Con session is far better than some of those around. An enjoyable feature on Devon Bostick. His Jasper was meant to be killed off in the pilot, but the actor so impressed, the character was brought back to life - he destined to bring much needed light relief in subsequent episodes. Then his fortunes changed and he was killed off again - only for the creators to have a rethink, rewrite that episode and invite Bostock once more.At its heart the show has a message that needs to be heeded. The planet can only survive if those on it learn to co-operate. Failure to do so caused the catastrophe that preceded the series. Is history about to repeat itself?Admittedly at times frustrating and silly (still some characters unshaven, sporting styled eyebrows and ultra-white teeth), but THE 100 has much to commend it.

I've now managed to buy all seven seasons of the best sci-fi show on TV and for some reason season 4 was the hardest to find.

Season 4 returns to being the more grounded sci-fi that I saw in the first two seasons. More importantly it goes back to the shows main premise – survival against the odds and the consequences. The season’s main story is how humanity is going to survive the next nuclear Armageddon, known as Praimfaya. But of course, it can’t be as simple as working together. The politics and internal wranglings soon make everything complicated and inevitably the various factions are fighting for their right to survive. This made for some very good, tense episodes that keep me watching and glad this is a full series DVD set! Although there are still a few ongoing writing problems, overall this was a strong season.

I never understood the sh*tstorm that fell upon The 100 season 3. Yeah, major character death, but it felt real, surprising and in line with the show.Season 4 takes off right away. Whenever I have had a break from the show, between seasons, I always have to get in line with the characters again, as their quarreling seems a tad teeny/melodramatic, but then the action kicks in, the sci fi plot unfolds and the characters fall in line, with well written dialogue, believable acting and character destinction. The cliffhanger of this season finale makes me impatient of seeing season 5. I hope they nail it. So far the series has been truly great, with superb production design, great acting and interesting story lines. Definitely worth a look.

Season 4 of the 100 is very good despite the fact that many (and good) characters died in season 3. The role of Clarke in this season events is much smaller. on the other hand Octavia assumes the lead. Again writers decided to eliminate major characters from the show. I hope season 5 is as good as this one.

Season 1 and 2 really good then season 3 went silly but then picked up again season 4 is good, paid for whole season but have to wait to watch after ep 7

Not Happy with Amazon I have brought the season watched episode 1 but cannot watch any other available episodes because of their licencing regulations?

Great series, however episode 13 which was aired on the 24th May 2017 but still isn't available on Amazon, why??
