I have older skin with large pores, and this has been the best pore-filling primer I’ve tried. It feels smooth and lightweight, and my makeup no longer settles or clogs in my pores when I use it. I now wear it every day because it makes such a difference. The formula is lovely—infused with Tea Tree and Vitamins A & E—so it feels restorative as well as effective. It creates a beautifully smooth, glowing base under my foundation and leaves a soft matte finish that lasts all day. A fantastic primer at a great price, and I love that it’s cruelty-free and vegan. Highly recommend!

It provided a subtle smoothing effect, but not to the extent that I was hoping for. One aspect that I found particularly beneficial was the natural matte finish. It helped to control shine and kept my makeup looking fresh for a longer duration. However, I did find that it emphasized any texture on my skin, such as acne scars or bumps. While I had mixed feelings about this primer, my niece, who has different skin concerns, absolutely loves it. She has dry skin and found that this primer provided the perfect amount of hydration for her. It also helped to prolong the wear of her makeup and created a smooth base for foundation. In conclusion, the elf Hydrating Face Primer is a lightweight and hydrating option that provides a natural matte finish. I’ve seen so many people rave about this primer online, but for some reason, it just doesn’t work for me. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but something about the texture feels off—it’s both slimy and dry at the same time, which is a strange combination. It’s frustrating because I really wanted to like it, but I just can’t get past how it feels on my skin. That said, if this product works for you, that’s great! I’m not discrediting those who love it—everyone’s skin is different. However, if you’re someone who hasn’t tried this primer yet and you’re on the hunt for a new one, I’d suggest looking at other options. It’s clearly a good primer for some people, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

Brilliant primer. Even better than lancome and Clinique primers. Really smooths out pores and disguises fine lines and acne scars. Won't be without it.

My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is that I don't think it's a miracle worker - it takes some time to see results, and it might not work as well for severe hyperpigmentation. However, for maintaining healthy, glowing skin and subtly addressing minor discoloration, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!
