Felt dull from the first cut, actually cut worse than my already dull evolution blade.
Tried on 1 5/8” pavers and it was bouncy and never “bit” in from the start. Tried about 3’ and would only score the paver about 1/2” deep.

Budget quality segmented masonry blade for your 4-1/2 inch hand grinder
Item: ORIXTREME 4 1/2 Inch Diamond Saw Blade, Segmented Gen. PurposePrice: $9.99 at time of review on 12 10 22ABOUT THIS ITEM…..I own a couple 4” hand angle-grinders. And for the home-shop masonry work that I might do, 4-1/2” diamond ‘segmented’ blades are a commodity item. The Orixtreme seems to be an equal in material-build quality to the ‘budget quality’ multi-pak blades I normally buy.WHAT YOU GET…..In the package with the blade, you will get a brass bushing to reduce the disc’s 7/8” arbor size down to 5/8”. For me, and with my Ryobi angle grinder, the arbor is 5/8”, and the grinder came with a hardened machined steel adapter that allows mounting of 5/8-inch arbor blades. So the bushing/washer goes into my parts bin.FEATURES & BENEFITS…..The Orixtreme segmented blade is, as on the vendor page, best for masonry. The spaces/segments between the blade elements allow the blade to throw masonry debris and dust clear of the cutting rim. That’s the feature of a segmented blade and why the Orixtreme is recommended for masonry work. I don’t use these blades on metal unless the blade is near the end of its usefulness, and I’m just rough cutting a small bolt down to size. But that’s why I also have ‘continuous rim’ metal cutting discs on two other grinders.PRICE-POINT, VALUE and OVERALL OPINION…..So when I need a ‘budget level blade’ like this, price is the driving force. When buying single blades at my local big-box hardware store, $10 to $11 seems to be the range. So if you only need one blade for a small-demand masonry project, I’d consider this blade. However, on Amazon I found two 3-pak offers. One was a low unit price of $4.60 each with next day delivery. I found another 3-pak for $8.67 each. And being Amazon Prime available, I highly value the next day or 2-day delivery. Possibly, if I only needed one budget-quality blade, it might be worth buying this single Orixtreme. But even on this vendor page, I found an Amazon’s Choice ® at $8.99. Given equal quality of budget discs and then looking at even single unit price, I’d not have much incentive to highly recommend this particular blade.

For light work
The blade comes with a brass bushing and I needed that bushing to fit my grinder. But it would not easily fit into the blade. I was able to persuade it using a few light hammer taps. But then it would not fit on my grinder. The inner hole was too small. I 3D printed a bushing that allowed me to put the blade into my grinder.I cut off the end of a rock that was in my way. Taking light passes it got the job done but seemed to be going slower toward the end. There are not a lot of cutting chips on the blade.I used it to clean up my poor plasma cutting job on a piece of 1/4" steel ushing the chips on the side of the blade as opposed to the edge. It cleaned up the metal and smoothed the rough edge.My circular saw has a 10mm center so I made another bushing and tried cutting a 1/4" deep score groove. It was very slow going. This blade is good for very light work with light passes.

I should have bought the smaller 4.5" version.
I'm conflicted as to the use of this 5" blade that I ordered. It's not big enough to protrude above the table of my 7" tile saw, so it can't be used on that.Using it on any of my angle grinders will require removal of the guard. I've often used my angle grinders without guards, very carefully with two hands firmly planted on the grinder, but I'm leery of using a segmented blade without a guard.Additionally, I have a negative gut reaction to cutting stone, tile or brick without using water as a lubricant and dust inhibitor. Yes, this blade is made for that, but using it that way would seem to ensure a short blade life. So be it, because I'm damn sure not going to use water as a lubricant while holding a 120v electric motor a few inches away.My bad. None of those concerns detract from the quality of this item, which is at or near the low end of the price range, and is said to work well.

Great for trimming in concrete!
I specifically bought this ORIXTREME 4 1/2 Inch Diamond Saw Blade to assist in placing our concrete walkway pieces. I ended up going with a different material but I did need some edging pieces cut to fit in. I typically would use wet, but decided to test the stated dry cut this is capable of. It did cut thru this concrete edging quite easily. I did a few pieces and the last was cutting just as well as the first. These segmented blades always make me a little uncomfortable that it could break while cutting, so I make sure to wear protective glasses and clothing. I generally do not get a lot of cuts in these blades and weigh quality vs price. I purchased a big box store brand previously, and that one did not hold up as well as this one, but I have not cut much stone in the past.
