Valerian stinks like chronic athletes foot, but cats love it
This spray bottle seems to be super concentrate, it stinks! Cats Love it, mine went mad for it, anything from a distraction of fireworks or the MOD firing out on the Range, is a perfect distraction, but it STINKS! Anyone who has ever had Athletes foot or suffers from sweaty feet, is the closest fragrance you will get with this. It is a herb and it grows naturally in the UK, It works for settling your cat to keep them happy, is highly distractive, makes a good "thank you" treat without making them fat, and you just got to make sure you don't spray it in open spaces, but on their beds, away from human noses, because it stinks! It's good value for money though, although I think catnip has a better scent when sprayed, this Valerian lasts longer.

Calming for my dog.
It seems to help calm my dog down during fireworks etc..Smells awful though..but odour doesn't linger too long and whatever helps my little dog gets my vote !!

Cats LOVE it.
Spritzed a couple of sprays onto the rug. Lord Aragorn was immediately interested. He couldn't stop sniffing the area and eventually ended up rolling himself gently around it. Valerian smells faintly of musty old socks so don't be concerned that something is wrong...The smell is worth it to see your beloved companions in such bliss. Now he comes running at the sound of ANY pump spray....Definitely relaxing for cats and as an aromatherapist I can tell you that it works on humans as well...It's just not an oil that aromatherapists like to use because of the odd odour. I could never find a different oil that would mask the smell. Great product but a little pricey TBH.

Strong smell but helps
We think this is working at times we sprayed it to stop our cat from her over grooming ways. But we find the scent of this spay unpleasant, I would compare it to a pair of teenagers old trainers. But if it’s calming our cat then we try to put up with it. We sprayed it in her carry case and she seemed calmer than usual for sure.

Work like a magic
Truly a magic. My cat with a spring become restless, going out during the night, scratching and biting. Within 3 min of using spray on her blanket she is headbutting me for attention, wanted to stroke her and go peacefully to sleep till 6 am ( not 3 a.m). Totally works!

Doesn't work
This calming spray hasn't worked on my kitten. He's still tearing around the house like a cat possessed. This has a disgusting aroma, it smells like men's sweaty socks. It makes me gip ,so all in all this spray is no good for my cat and not good for my sense of smell.

Cat was calmed
I bought this product out of sheer desperation when I had to take my cat on a long car journey. He usually does ALL the emptying out whilst wailing for the whole trip, but I was amazed that after spraying his bedding and the pet carrier with this he was absolutely chilled out. I continued to use it in his new environment until he got used to the new place.(He was also sedated for the car journey, but this definitely has helped him)

Utterly vile smelling.
I like the idea of this item but the reality is this item smells absolutely rancid. I saw other reviews mentioning it didn't smell nice and I thought "ahhhh maybe they are over reacting and just overly sensitive". However no... Its like an unpleasant bacterial smell (like something died and decomposed or worse) and whatever you spray it on will hold it that smell... Plus its like spraying water, so whatever then touches what you spray it on gets that smell/it spreads. On receipt I sprayed it into the cap to have a sniff and thought OMG thats horrible, yet stupidly I still sprayed it on my cats bed - I assumed the smell would fade/the calming effect would remain. Safe to say the smell remained, my cat wasn't bothered one way or another with the smell and I had to immediately wash the bed and binned the spray.I would never purchase this item again, cat had no reaction and the smell being the primary reason. You just can't spray this stuff in the house and I wouldn't even spray it outside on something in case the smell transferred onto the cat and the smell just doesn't go away.
