This Stanley FatMax tape measure is excellent quality and feels built to last. The blade armour coating adds durability, and the tape standout is very impressive, making it easy to measure longer distances on your own. The magnetic end hook is very useful when working with metal surfaces and helps keep measurements steady and accurate. It feels solid in the hand and the markings are clear and easy to read. Overall, a top-quality tape measure that performs reliably and is ideal for both trade and DIY use.

One pays for what one gets. The Fatmax is a great product just as long one looks after them. I don't allow others to use these, the last time I did it came back with a split in the tape. This was due to not controlling the speed of the tape returning into its housing.

I wished I had brought 1 sooner

The only tape measure strong and reliable enough for my tool box. Best on the market, smooth and compact, the tip isn't so heavy that you fail to extend the tape from a pair of steps but it's enough to grip most edges. Never had a split or spring problem. Very good product, let's hope they never change it. Update: After somebody decided they would rather have my beloved tape measure, I had to buy another one. I'm not sure if they've changed the printing process but the markings are dull, they don't "pop" like my other one. Still superb build quality but loses a star for the faded print this time around.

I always thought a tape measure was a tape measure until I started using a Stanley. They are just clearer to read and way more sturdy for heavy use. Compare the pics of two 5m tape measures. The Stanley is just built to work and be read clearly at a glance.

This tape measure is quite large, plenty of length available and the extra width of the tape ensures that it is sturdy enough to not collapse under its own weight making measuring tasks easier to perform by yourself. The only downsides are that it’s bulkier than a standard measure making it heavier and slightly harder to handle and store in a pocket etc. Overall these don’t make much of a difference in normal use, making this a 5/5.

I've been buying Stanley tape measures since before FAT MAX existed. That's how loyal and committed I am to this brand. I actually made money surveying so I have a collection of yellow Stanley tape measures. I needed a 16 foot model, this is the first time. I usually buy longer models, and luv this unit. It's compact and fits in my hand like I'm about to throw a spit ball. Thank you Stanley 😊
