Beautiful pencil with excellent feel
This pencil takes a little time to arrive as mentioned in other reviews but don't let that dissuade your purchase. Item arrived well packaged for the travel and was securely wrapped in bubble wrap. As you can see with attached picture, pencil is held in a crystal case with slip cover. Other reviews mentioned plastic barrel, the pencil I received does not seem to match that reviewers pencil. Construction appears of wood and metal with an inner plastic lead tube. This S20 has nice heft with a smooth feel in the hand but not slippery. I wear large size gloves and this pencil fits well in my hand (IMO) if size is a concern. I would not recommend this pencil be carried in the pant pocket as the pencil point is.....well......pointy. I like the adjustable lead designator and the clip design lends a very art style look to the pencil. This is my go to pencil on the desk or in the briefcase while the Kerry will remain my pocket pencil with it's cap.

Great writing experience, with a great look
This pencil is really good. Its lightweight, it writes smooth, it feels really smooth, and it looks cool. The only downside I have experienced with this pencil is the fact that the metal tip where the lead comes out isn't retractable. So the tip is subject to bending or breaking off. Mine bent a little bit, but i was able to bend it back in place and it works fine. I definitely suggest this pencil, just be careful with it, it's not too fragile, but the tip can break just like all other pencils like this.

Stylish, durable, and comfortable.
I acquired this mechanical pencil in hope to substitute my older Pilot mechanical pencil that had started to wear off.At first, I was a bit reluctant to order this pencil because since it is made out of wood, I thought it could be fragile wood, and as a college student I did not need a special edition collection mechanical pencil to write letters to the love of my life to. I need a stylish, good-looking, good-quality mechanical pencil that would hold up to the necessities and demands of a college student. Although I am careful about taking care of the things I own, I must say this pencil is very durable and is not fragile as I thought it would be. In addition, the wooden body gives the use of the mechanical pencil a better grip of the writing tool. The name of the pencil on the silver ring at the middle of the pencil's body has started to fade after 2 months of use, which can be product of the way I grab the pencil to write. Also, I expected the pencil to be a bit thinner than it actually is, which was a bit of a downside to it for me personally. In conclusion, do not judge the book by its cover and think this pencil is fragile because of its stylish wooden body. It is a durable, versatile, stylish mechanical pencil that will last you for long as long as you take proper care of it (i.e. not letting it fall of your desk or smashing it against anything basically).

My new favorite pencil
This is an amazing pencil. It's quite heavy, easily the heaviest pencil I own, which for me is a plus. It feels solid and substantial throughout and while easy to grip, also simple to slide my grip back away from the top to make more broad sweeping lines while drawing. The feed is nice, with a solid non mushy click, I appreciate that there is the feature to mark what type of lead is being used (F,HB,B...) The eraser is tiny like many mech pencil erasers, and does not have a rod to unjam the tip, but I very rarely use the erasers on mech pencils anyway so it's not a huge issue. I do see this easily becoming my favorite pencil, though I wish they had a .7mm option as well. I also really liked that the clip was removable, and easily so. I never use them and the removal just left the nice clean organic curves of the pencil shine through. I see myself picking up more of these so I can have a variety of lead grades on hand without having to swap constantly. The only issue was the quality of the lead that came preloaded in the pencil wasn't great. By default it was set to B, but the lines were a bit if a washed out grey. It did darken slightly with additional pressure (of course) but it didn't feel properly B but maybe more on the B spectrum of an HB at best. Simple matter to swap out with a better quality lead.

Didn't know I could like a pencil this much--and I have been a pencil ...
Didn't know I could like a pencil this much--and I have been a pencil fanatic for 45 years. It's beautifully balanced, the wood is smooth and very pleasing to the hand (I am not normally a fan of wood pencil casing)--actually more comfortable to grip than resin or metal--and the size and weight are in perfect harmony. I have small hands, tiny writing and work with very fine markings. Best of all, despite the small lead size it writes extremely smoothly, with no paper scoring, tearing or puncturing--a problem I've had with other .5 and .3 lead pencils, even using soft leads. This pencil blows the thousands of others I've used over the decades right out of the water. Utterly recommend. Only wish I'd had this pencil a few decades earlier.

pencil head fragile
If weren't for the fragility of the head, I would easily give this pencil a five star. I have only used it for about two months, during which I dropped it several times. This is a really solid pencil, made with fine wood and metal components, yet its pencil head is feeble and thus prone to being deformed due to impact. Now I can hardly get the pencil lead through the deformed pencil head.Pros: ---elegant design: its classic look makes it stand out immediately in comparison with regular plastic counterparts;---solid weight: it weighs a substantial amount in your hand, helping your hand movements become more controlled;Cons:---the pencil head is fragile, vulnerable to being broken if dropped on hard floor.I would still recommend it for anyone looking for a classic and overall well-made mechanic pencil, but just note that it is intended to be handled with care if you want to have it functional for a while.
