Tiger textile fabric markers - set of 8 assorted colours

These pens are fabulous. My daughter bought some fabric pens and T.Shirts for my grandson (her nephew) to create his own tops during the holidays. This was a fabulous idea and he absolutely loved colouring the top. The problem was he insisted on sleeping in said top. The colours ran and two weeks later his belly is still black from the ink. The top’s a mess and totally unsaveable. I asked my daughter to bring it back so I could wash it to see at what point the colour stopped running before we did anymore. Eight bowls of water later colour was still running like crazy. I searched Amazon for a reasonably priced alternative. I decided an iron in one would probably work best. These pens are fabulous. I did a test run on an old T.shirt before getting his hopes up. They’re easy to use. The colour goes on well and once ironed it stays firmly in place. I’ve just ordered a second set. We’ve recreated our original Bendy and the ink machine top (hence the black belly). Now we’re working on a Pokemon one. I iron between characters so the colour doesn’t smudge or come off on his hands. This isn’t necessary but after our first disaster I like to know it’s set.

These were really good value for money, I made a Sally costume (Nightmare before Christmas)for the little one for Halloween. The colours gave it that perfect rag doll effect I needed. The blue is dark not light though as it shows in the pic, but the purple became lighter as it slowly ran out anyway. I bought 2 packs as it was a big shirt so double up if it's a bigger project. All in all perfect if you want to save money.

I am going to caveat this review by saying that I haven't yet tried washing anything I've made yet, so it's entirely possible it will all go wrong when I do. Nevertheless, I am giving 5* in the assumption it won't (I'm relatively confident because when I used this brand of pens to design t-shirts as a child I recall their staying power was decent). Anyway, I had so much fun drawing the designs and have loved wearing them so much that even if washing them affects the quality it will have been worth it for £4 I spent. My only complaint would be that there is no orange pen (the pack comes with black, brown, red, pink (and the pink is almost the same shade as the red), yellow, green, blue, and purple), but I found it easy enough to make orange by lightly shading the red across the fabric and then colouring over it in the yellow. All of the colours are bold and bright, and the pens also have fine enough tips that you can get a fair amount of detail and precision. The ink has a similar consistency and feel to liquid paint, which can be bad because the pens feel quite dry when you are using them (although I should emphasise that they weren't actually dry - all of them still seem to have plenty of ink after doing several designs), but is also good because it means the ink doesn't run (the only colours in my set which ran a little were the red and the blue, but it was barely noticeable). Tips (from my experience using them so far): - If you are planning a complex design, map it out in fabric chalk or water-soluble pen first because once you make a mark with these pens, it isn't coming out. - Don't accidently drip water on the pen marks before they are completely set or draw on damp fabric, because the colours will blur and run everywhere (although you could probably use it as a technique if you wanted a blurred effect). - As mentioned, you can blend the colours so long as you overlay the second colour before the first colour has started to set. Either lightly shade with the first colour and then colour over with the second colour, or use a sort of pointillism technique with a mix of colours (which is what I did to get the speckled brown/black on the catfish). But also bear in mind with mixing that the tip of the second pen will be temporarily stained with the first colour and draw as a mixed colour for a few seconds afterwards. - If using a fabric that is the same thickness (or thinner) than a regular cotton t-shirt, put a sheet of card between the layers when you draw because the ink goes through slightly (on thicker fabric, it doesn't go through at all). - You can get surprisingly bold colours even on light- to mid-tone fabrics because the ink mostly lies in a layer on top of the fabric.

Cheap product - but one pen didn’t work, contacted the seller about this. They said to try on paper first. Did this and it still didn’t work. Was then offered to return pack, or be issued a partial refund. I got 64p back. Wouldn’t buy from here again.

These worked well on fabric and good range of colours. Used to decorate pencil cases.

Had these pens for over a year now and still work great, really easy to use. Kids love them too

Just bought these for a child as an advent present. These are easy to grip and should be perfect for their intended use. Lovely and bright colours so will make a nice picture.

A co édition toutefois de repasser le tissu une fois le dessin fait. Les enfants ont poursuivi leurs "oeuvres" en se fabriquant des t-shirt personnalisés (les couleurs se voyant mieux sur un t-shirt blanc)

Für den Preis war es das günstigste Angebot - eigentlich brauchte ich nur 2 Farben um ein Lauf-Shirt etwas zu individualisieren. Jetzt wurde es halt richtig bunt :) Bisher hält die Farbe - das Shirt wird jetzt noch gebügelt, dann soll die Farbe länger halten. Bisher klare Kaufempfehlung!
