Exo Terra Turtle UVB Lamp Fixture, 11w

Excellent product, have had two of these at either end on my musk turtle tank for about six months now and i'm very pleased to say that both my common musk turtles are doing extremely well, they have very healthy shell growth and are very active, I have the lights on a timer for about 11 hours a day to ensure that they get the maximum benefit.

This uvb light and fitting is spot on, just what my musk turtles needed.With a nice glow basking glow, the sheild reflector boosts efficiency and prevents passers by being blinded by the bulbThe one I ordered did come with a UK transformer, not the European two pin transformer others have received.The clamp fitting works perfectly and should be fine for any regular glass or plastic tank. It has plenty of screw and connection points to move around should you need to modify it or even make your own bracket to suit specific needs.

not as bright as i had hoped

This looked like exactly what I needed for my turtle tank, unfortunately as others have mentioned the supplied bracket is extremely small, won't fit on my 10mm glass and even with heat I was unable to deform the bracket enough to allow it to fit.Subsequently it has become a temporary light I have cable tied to a filter inlet hose, not recommended unless you have thin glass, certainly no good for 10mm+ glass.

To clear things up, yes it does have a European plug on it.I think this product is fantastic. It's exactly what I wanted. I went into a pet store and the guy told me these didn't exist and it was fake etc etc and suggested what would be suitable. Needless to say, he suggested something rather expensive. This product is great. It clips to the side, rotates and the on/off switch is on the fixture so you don't need to hunt down the wire to find the switch. It doesn't get Hot, it doesn't make a sound and you can point it exactly where you want it. fantastic.

Does what it says. Comes with an UK plug, so I needed to get an European adapter. Besides that, I am really satisfied with the product!

This lamp has an incredibly narrow and inflexible, hard plastic bracket that seems to require you to have a glass tank as thin as a wafer in order to attach it. Ridiculous. I've had to squeeze it onto the plastic frame of my old hood, which I wanted to ditch entirely, just to get it into some sort of usable position. Not happy. The makers should be mindful that responsible terrapin owners have huge tanks for them to roam about in - mine is five feet long - and such tanks have to have thick glass. The lamp itself works as you'd expect it to, but the bracket is just plain stupid in its design and lack of usability.

My terrapins shell was getting rather dull with her previous lamp, so we decided that she needed another. As the bulbs for her old fitting were no longer available, we decided to try something new and have taken a risk with this product.Within a few days the terrapins shell showed real improvement and now after four months the lamp is still in working order and my terrapins shell looks lovely.The 'hood' it's self looks cheap however and the fitting is very small. We had to force it onto the tank and don't think we could move it without breaking it. Therefore we will likely not be purchasing a replacement bulb in the future and will be looking elsewhere, despite the good results of the lamp.At the time of purchase all the description was in English (now I think German?) and came with a UK plug. It would be worth checking before purchase that this is still the case.
