Small, strong and useful
arrived quickly - part of a big parcel so don't know what it'd be like on its own - no damage - as described - no hassles.10 little pinching clampsSlightly stronger grip than clothes pegs - that's not a sarcastic observation.useful for all manner of situations. For me that's mostly - but not exclusively - gluing and some holding in place for drilling.the jaws open to about an inch - 25mm -For the price they are undoubtedly well made and useful, they are small enough to hold things where space is limited and more strongly than my fingers could. For children or older persons or persons with perhaps less dexterity than they used to have mechanical screw type G clamps might be easier to control, but that not to say these require herculean effort to open. For the price its worth having them and trying them.ACID TEST: would I buy again - Yes.

Better than expected!
I must admit that when I purchased this set of Micro Clamps my expectations were not set too high, despite having some good reviews (considerably outweighing the negative ones) the price of under £2.00 delivered for a pack of eight seemed too good to be true.Imagine my surprise when they arrived and turned out to be really rather good!Lets start with the basics; they are constructed from a pretty tough plastic, with just the internal spring and retaining nut and bolt being made from metal. They are approximately 68mm in length, the 'levers' that you push together with your fingers are approximately 50mm apart, and the clamping jaws have a maximum grip of approximately 26mm.At the tip of the clamping jaws are additional 'hinged' grips, these allow for objects of various shapes and angles to be held more securely. The main body is manufactured from a black plastic, and the aforementioned 'hinged' grips from a bright orange plastic. The internal spring is the main surprise for me, it is far stronger than I expected; don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting it is strong enough for any heavy duty DIY, but lets just say that if you put one on your finger you certainly know about it!The clamps are very lightweight with the spring and retaining nut and bolt making up most of the weight.I purchased the clamps for model making, specifically for holding parts together whilst gluing, and they are just about perfect for this purpose. The amount they open by is suitable for most parts and the 'hinged' grips allow for perfect allignment. My only minor criticism is that the grip may actually be too strong for some parts (how ironic!).I am so pleased with them that I have now purchased a second set.Overall they offer superb value for money, yes they are small and they will not stand up to too much force, but as long as they are used appropriately they are a really great little set of clamps!

Looks the part, but ...
I was quite impressed by the strong springs and pivoted jaw pieces. These little clamps are very good for holding any parallel-sided components together for hobby work and small household repairs.Unfortunately the swivelling jaw pieces are made of a very hard, slippery plastic, so that even though the gripping surfaces are textured and they angle to fit any shape of item, the strong springs and the lack of friction combine to shoot anything with sides not precisely parallel to each other right across the room, which didn't do my model airplane any good AT ALL. Even something with a slight camber, such as an airplane wing, would squirt out.I am thinking of gluing some grippy rubber sheets to the jaws to see whether that would help, but the real solution would be to use a soft rubber compound for these parts in future rather than something which is a cross between Bakelite and Teflon.

good quality product
I used these to hang Christmas decorations and hold together foam core and plastic model kits while they glued.some of them needed to have small pieces of plastic sanded off of them as they have tabs that were impeding them from fully opening at the jaw and impeding the orange grip's from spinning freely. The plastic parts I'm referring to are not meant to be there and are excessThey are brittle plastic and I wouldn't recommend them for wood/heavy weight use but for foam core, cardboard, fabric they are great.

Too strong
Very inexpensive, but far far too strong for clamping plastic kit models such as the fuselage of Airfix model planes etc. without damaging them. I tried to weaken the powerful spring but was unsuccessful. I don't think that I will actually be using them. Pity.EDITED BY REVIEWER. I have now used the clamps and find that actually they are not too strong for plastic model kits, provided the item being clamped it less than, say, 3/8ths of an inch (which apples to most kit parts). As the jaws are plastic, the clamps will slip off any rounded part, but sticking something having low friction (like Copydex liquid rubber) could cure that. I now give then 4 stars. ****They are useful. Micro Clamp Set 8 Pack

Micro clamps................
They clamp small objects together, very strong spring for the size. Good for playing the old "here, smell this" game. :=0At 20p each (March '13) they have a place in any tool-kit.They might be a bit flimsy round the swivel pads but they will work without them if they do fall off, which they show no signs of doing.Overall good value for money.

Easy to use with good grip
These clamps are easy to use and have a quite strong spring so they hold the objects firmly in place. Being so small they can obviously not be used for bigger items. Max width is 20 mm.
