Extra packaging a must! Great kettle!
Having read the other reviews on here I decided to purchase a slightly more expensive black kettle than one I was using from a well known supermarket that helps with the little stuff. My original matt coloured kettle was starting to visibly show scaling around the lid and spout and the on/off switch had broken due to wear. The first Aicok Kettle arrived in its own box with no extra packing. I had missed when ordering that you could have the kettle arrive at no extra cost with an external box provided and some extra packing inside. The kettle didn't look damaged when opened but when I shook it there was an audible rattle coming from the moulded lid which you couldn't get at - it had to go back. Not a good start. The refund process was painless and almost immediate. I simply ordered a new kettle WITH external packaging that arrived promptly. The kettle is very shiny which I like and it is sturdy but not too heavy to hold when full. The on/off switch has a definite click and seems to be weel fixed to the kettle and is unlikely to snap or break away like my previous kettle. I always choose kettles that have the spout moulded as part of the kettle as opposed to simply glued on (to avoid those inevitable drips when pouring the umpteenth drink sometime down the line). Water simply bounces off the outside of this kettle when filling and the lid retracts to almost 90 degrees making it much easier to fill with long kitchen taps like I have. The kettle is pretty quiet and boils fairly rapidly and doesn't burn your hand when pouring although the lid does get hot and shouldn't be opened immediately. All in all I am very happy with this kettle. Time will tell how long it lasts. Highly recommended!

Does what it is supposed to
This is an adequate kettle but the negatives outweigh the positives for me. The cord is shorter than our last kettle (so it won't reach the socket we used before) - 69cm - 27" from the base of the plug to the kettle base. It rocks on the base. It's noisy and the cutout takes a long time to switch off. It takes 12 seconds after the water reaches boiling point, to cut off. So less energy efficient and the outside of the the lid is covered in steam when it finishes boiling. I usually switch it off myself. As for the picture showing you can get your hand inside - only if you have very small hands! I find the part opening of the lid irritating and awkward if you use a filter jug to fill the kettle. Why couldn't pressing the button open it fully?I do like the fact you can remove the limescale filter for cleaning. It is very lightweight and has a nice bright light on the switch. It takes less than 2 minutes to boil half a litre of water (enough for 2 mugs of coffee).

Highly Recommend for anyone who cannot lift weights, even in a kettle, Does not look Plastic,
Great Kettle, lightweight, and with now having Arthritis in my hands, I needed a light kettle before I started putting water in it, it is easy to swivel on the stand, and has a lovely wide opening for filling, It does not look plastic, I am very fussy about Kitchen Appliances and this one gets my full rating for the distinctive look. It has a very clear side panel which tells you how much water etc, It is a quick boiling kettle, and really does boil the water, Very pleased indeed,

Anyone want a s/h Russell Hobbs!!
I had an expensive Russell Hobbs kettle that was badly designed and I was using a knife to open the lid because I couldn't get my fingers under the piece where you lift. Long story, short, I decided that I wanted a kettle with a lid release button and decided on the AIcok kettle. It looks smart and the window is sensibly placed on the side, rather than under the handle, as with a lot of kettles. The button to open the lid just needs a light touch and, although you can open the lid fully, I find that it's just right on its first position. It boils quickly, although I haven't timed it and it's very quiet when you switch on. The on switch is illuminated, which I find a bonus, because I can't hear it initially and often look to check that 'yes' I did switch it on!It's very lightweight and black looks very smart.Overall, I'm very pleased with my choice and have no hesitation in recommending it! 😊

Fulfills all my requirements of a cordless electric kettle
Delighted with this purchase! A sudden quick offer from Amazon and I got it for under £20. It's very light weight, quiet, quick boil (I tested it on full capacity with cold water and it was 3mins 49sec; however I rarely need it more than half full), fully opening lid, and importantly, because I live in a very hard water area, has a removable filter in the spout for the limescale, which I wouldn't want to be without. The viewing window for water level is really clear and in a convenient place, ie not behind the handle as with some kettles I looked at. I highly recommend this kettle.

Rapid boil indeed!
Very good rapid boil kettle, had a stove kettle but did seem to take an inordinate amount of time for the water to boil. This has made my morning coffee so much quicker and has been a time saver! Very good item, have purchased some of the more expensive brands but still end up having to replace sooner than expected. Hence why we decided to try this one and have been impressed so far.Mrs.Ed.

Great VFM.
A really good kettle for just £23, filled with water and boiled twice to make sure that it was clean and had no after taste or smell and it has been great.Quick and quiet, the only small thing I can think of is that could be improved is the addition of a another side window so that you can see where the water is from either side.

Budget but brilliant!
I don't usually opt for such a cheap kettle, but with renting and having a horrible looking kitchen, I didn't see any reason to buy something more stylish. This Aicok kettle looks and feels every bit as cheap as the price suggests and I wasn't expecting this to last long. However, after using this for six months, I have to admit, I love it! Why? Because it's ergonomically and functionally perfect. It's lightweight and comfortable to hold, has a convenient pop-up lid, a spout that pours to perfection, and it boils at lightning speed.I'll still probably upgrade to something more stylish when I move into my own house with a decent kitchen, but I've enjoyed using this kettle and will always recommend it.
