Tombow "Fudenosuke Soft Brush Pen - Black

The Tombow "Fudenosuke" Soft Brush Pen is fantastic for both beginners and experienced calligraphers. I absolutely love this pen. The body is lightweight and has a nice shine to it, and the cap fits on the end of it so you don't lose it. The ink is a very nice black and can cover over pretty much any media, if you do the outline afterwards like I do. It does eat away at the paper if you put too much ink in one place though so you have to be extra careful but that's not really a big deal since you're only meant to draw single lines with it. It also doesn't bleed when used with alcohol based markers which is a big plus, all fineliner pens I've used so far bled like crazy as soon as I applied colour. The brush nib is stiff, but not too stiff, so you can get a very fine line using the very tip of the brush, and you can get to lines as thick as the length of the brush. Overall, very satisfied. Definitely buying again when this one runs out. Very good price considering the high quality of the product. Highly recommended.

They’re very good for calligraphy, and inexpensive for how good they are, but in my opinion they run out quite quickly , i seem to be ordering them quite frequently. Still amazing price and good pens, but just consider if you’ll be using them all the time or just a one off.

I have been testing brush pens for about a year and I always come back to this particular pen - it is soft and totally easy to use, gliding across the page like silk! Moreover, it is very durable, and the ink seems last for a long time. I have had mine for a year, and with moderate use the pen is still working as if it were new. I will definitely be purchasing more for my artworks and calligraphy practice, and would recommend this to both beginners and advanced artists/writers etc alike - suitable for everyone.

I bought this as my first lettering pen, and I think it is a very good option. It is easy to use and the ink flows really well. However, it came on a plain plastic bag, and as other customers have pointed out, the first thing I thought was that I had no way to know if it was new or used, so it will be great if they changed the packaging. Overall, I recommend it and I will buy it again.

what else can I say about this pen other than I love it? i use it a LOT, especially when i'm working with copics and markers of similar nature. it's wonderful to work with and i've tried it with some Japanese writing too! both times the end results were wonderful, though I wouldn't recommend buying this if you wanted to just use it to write english or any other roman alphabet language. doesn't smudge and the tip is the right about of softness that makes it easy to switch between thick and thin lines. i'm glad i bought two!

Bought this for sketching in pen and it’s great. The result is lovely. Writing with it is very smooth. Tempted to use this just for regular note taking. I know the pen is aimed at calligraphy users which I can’t comment on but it’s great value for money.

The pen itself is great and I am very much enjoying learning to write brush lettering with. I chose this pen because it was recommended for beginner brush lettering on a website, and I think it does the job well. The pen is shipped from Japan, so it does take quite a while to arrive - this is the only reason I have given it 3 stars.
