Transforms the ergonomics of the Sony RX100 VII
This is the part that was missing from the Sony RX100 VII. It completely transforms the ergonomics of the camera: the difference is night and day. It is very easy to fit and - so far, anyway - shows no signs of coming unstuck. If you have already coughed up the startling price of an RX100, the little extra for this "missing" part is well worth it.

Fits perfectly
a bit expensive but it does what it says - lot easier to hold the RX100m7.

Must buy accessory for RX100 - But really needs to be included with the camera
Overall this product is an absolute must have for the RX100 (mine is a M3). It makes the camera much more comfortable to hold and far easier to grip. The difference between holding the camera with and without the grip is day and night. The grip is easy to apply and there are simple and straightforward instructions included in the box - I was worried I'd mess up the alignment but there's really nothing to it. Simply remove the sticker on the back, line up the grip with the left edge of the camera and apply - took me around 30 seconds from start to finish. The instructions then suggest to leave the camera alone for 24 hours to let the adhesive take hold. I've now been using the camera with the grip on for a couple of weeks now and it feels incredibly solid and unlikely to detach. The feel of the grip is excellent. It has a soft rubbery, leather feel and the embossing of the Sony logo is subtle and elegant. Overall it looks like the grip is part of the camera and not an aftermarket accessory, which brings me to my final point: Why on earth is this not built in??...or at the very least included in the box with the camera. To have to pay £12 to compensate for a basic design flaw on what is already a very expensive camera feels like Sony are being incredibly cheap and distasteful here. Sony - pull your finger out and start including this accessory in the box. In the mean time, for all present RX100 owners - you won't regret purchasing this item. [Update] 5 months on and the grip is still rock solid and showing no signs of wear despite lots of use

Just buy it, it is exactly what you are looking for to improve the Sony RX100
Very impressed, actual Sony grip in a Sony marked box, followed the instructions and it fitted perfect without any issues. The camera had heavy use on a 2 week trip to the USA and it works perfectly. No issues with it peeling off etc. It improved the feel of the camera and made it much easier for use on handed. I attached it to a mk3, but sure it will fit other versions Yes I would Recommend

Expensive but nice to have
The Sony AG-R2 Attachment grip is sold on a “one size fits all” basis for the Sony RX100 range of cameras. However, dimensions differ slightly between models, and in some models the attachment contacts the lens barrel, whilst in others there is a small gap. For those of us that read instructions, all is clearly shown. I first cleaned the camera surface with an alcohol wipe and soft tissue. Installation thereafter is simple but care is needed as once stuck down no corrective adjustment is possible. As instructed, the top edge is carefully and lightly aligned before pressing the remainder down. The adhesive then requires 24 hours before its full strength is achieved. Is it worth it? It initially strikes one as being expensive, even at Amazon’s price, but in use it does certainly make a difference. The camera is much more comfortable to hold now, and definitely feels more secure, especially using it single handedly. Quality is high, and it looks like part of the camera as opposed to something obviously added. Only concern is the long term effectiveness of the adhesive, the Sony instructions suggesting replacement of the item if “separation or peeling is noticed”.

more essential than optional
Bought this for my (new) RX-100 in 2016. It changed the camera from being quite difficult to hold securely, to providing a solid grip. The alternative was a fitted hard case, but the two solutions were mutually exclusive and the front flap of a case would tend to be a nuisance when open. So I opted for this. Sony really ought to have fitted -- or at least supplied in the box -- such a grip when manufacturing the RX range of cameras. My RX-100 camera, complete with this grip, is still in use.

A little expensive - but good value
The product is perfect, attached easily and stays rigidly in place. It’s a little expensive for the size but given that it helps prevent a very pricy camera from falling, is well worth the money.

Seems like a good idea but........
I bought this even before my camera had arrived as I had read reviews that it was a must for gripping in one hand. I have a couple of DSLR cameras and I like the grips that they have. The item arrived quickly (Thanks Amazon!) The box is a little bit overkill and a large instruction booklet for such a simple item doesn't do much for the conservation of trees but it is a Sony branded item and I guess they have to justify the cost for what is basically a small block of shaped rubber with some sticky stuff on it (OK that last statement should come with a disclaimer, sorry Sony I am sure it is precision or cutting edge). It looks and feels good but here is the problem..... I haven't actually fitted it to the camera! Why?, I hear you ask? (or not as the case may be!) Well, I also bought a nice custom fit leather case to stop my camera from getting scratched (Like you do!) and there is no way the camera would fit in the case if this was attached. Some reviewers have suggested that the rubber can be attached to the case (hmm! doesn't work for me). So, nice idea Sony but please make a case that also accommodates this nice (I am sure very high quality) attachment.

Works great for my m6! Easy to put on and appears to sit securely. Highly recommend for a much better grip!
