Elastic Compression Support Ankle, Foot Arch Brace with 4-Way Stretch (Medium Beige)

This does provide decent compression. A note about sizing: I wear a men's size 10 usually, sometimes 9.5.(U.S. sizing, 44 Euro) I measured around my ankle per the instructions and got 9 3/4 inches on average. It is a little hard to figure what just above the ankle bone means, or to be exact about it. I measured anywhere from 9 to 10.5 inches actually. For wearing a men's size 10 shoe I think I have pretty average sized ankles for that size foot. I did not know whether to order a medium or a large. I ordered a medium, and I am glad I did. I do not think a large would provide much compression at all, and it would probably slide around. I have a lightly sprained ankle with some planter fasciitis type stuff going on, and this definitely helped. My ankle condition would get worse when I ran and I got this to start running again and it has helped. If anything it could be a bit tighter for me. I only wear it for a couple hours or so at a time. I could probably wear it all day with out it feeling too tight or bothering a lot. If I got it to wear all day the level of tightness would probably be appropriate. It seems made reasonably well, I hope to see it keep its compression for a couple months of use at least. If it does not last I will update this review and note that. When running I wear it under a sock and it has not rolled up or moved around. It is comfortable to wear like this and I do not notice it except in a good way. I was desperate for something to stabilize my ankle without making me even more uncomfortable, and this is the best I've found. All the store bought ankle supports I've found have a cut out heel, and after a few hours, they make my heel hurt so much that I almost forget about my ankle! The edges of that cutout seem to cut into my foot as my foot swells a bit after I'm on my feet for a while. But this support has an enclosed heel and it's much more comfortable than all others with the cutout. My only complaint is that it's a bit thick, so I have to be careful of what goes over it in order to still fit into my shoe. And I'd much prefer a nude skin tone to the white. I'm not an athlete, I don't want to look bandaged, etc. I want to minimize the appearance of this support and the color does the opposite. As for the support itself, it's medium, as advertised, not fabulous, but pretty good.

I have very flat feet and corrective shoes were always too painful. I wasn't allowed to run or jump as a child/teenager, doctors orders. After further flattening my feet through pregnancy I then started a warehouse job on concrete. I assumed the pain I was experiencing was related to my flat feet, it was and it wasn't. Jumping up and down off of carts combined with standing on concrete all day had caused pretty severe ankle fractures. I limped for months and outside of work I was basically crippled, didn't want to do any activities, even playing with my toddler, washing dishes, showering was rough. Every night after work I hobbled into 24 hour pharmacies and department stores trying every insole I could. I googled for hours a day, borrowed fancy but useless massage tools from friends with various foot problems but as I learned ankle problems are not the same as foot problems. After I exhausted the local options I started reading amazon reviews online I found a lot of people recommending ankle support. I bought three different supports over Amazon that day and then one at a local pharmacy. Of all the ones I purchased these have been the most useful. After about six months of constant use, 40 hours a week, one of my 2 pairs started wearing down on the heal, overall not a bad deal considering my socks wear faster than this cheap brace did. The relief I've experienced wearing these has been incredible. I took a few well placed vacation days before mandatory overtime started to help my ankles heal the same week I started wearing these. I wish I'd found these to begin with. My feet still hurt from standing on concrete all day but I am generally pain free outside of working hours and I owe it all to these simple little braces. I keep buying more because when they are in the laundry and I have to go to work without them I really feel it. I'm grateful to these, I would have had to quit a job I love without them.

I really like this item. I did not buy it on Amazon though but, it is the same item. Just in case anyone is wondering, it feels like a light compression --- not a heavy/tight compression. It works well on me. I have a medical condition and the problem is in both my legs/feet -- Wearing these compression foot braces does help. It's not a miracle worker, but, it does take some of the pain away. I just wish the compression was a bit stronger as I have to wear these braces all day long and everyday. I especially love the fact that the heel is covered bc on other "ankle braces" i've worn, the heel is open and usually during the day, my feet swell up but, w/ the heel being covered, it doesn't cause any marks on my skin from forcing the brace to expand. This item for me, was true to size. I got the size Small and, it fits perfectly. I don't know how others wear it but, I get the most support out of it, if I put it directly on my foot and the sock over the brace. IF you're planning on putting this brace over your sock, I suggest buying a size bigger bc, I wanted to see if the brace would fit over my sock and, although it did, it literally killed my foot --The material feels light and, you won't even know it's there. It's a very very comfortable brace. I've owned this item for about 2 1/2 weeks now and wear it every single day on both feet for about 12-15 hours a day. It never gets uncomfortable, it never hurts my feet --- it just feels good.I would definitely recommend this product to whomever may have problems w/ their feet or who may be looking for extra support.
