Very solid HDD. It is heavy for travel consideration, but it'll carry on. Full 21.8TB after I reformatted for NTFS. Very happy with the purchase and it was worth the extra cost. I will probably expand a bit in future considering my RAW storage needs. Secondly the seller went above and beyond. I needed this HDD for an upcoming trip. And they made sure to get it to me in time. Honestly after 2 bad experiences with other brands, this is the only hard drive that didnt fail us. It hasnt frozen, it is fast, and reliable. I recommend 10/10

I ordered this to store sensitive data and programs I did not want exposed to viruses or other malware. The drive is very solid, has lots of capacity, and is very fast. I would definitely buy again!

The Glyph BlackBox Pro External Hard Drive 7200 RPM, USB-C (3.1,Gen2) (20TB) is very fast at writing video files from a SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD drive. I do Astrophotography and I have almost 4 TB's of Solar videos I need to transfer from my SanDisk Extreme Pro 4TB SSD Drive to the Glyph. As shown in the video the average write speed is around 255-260 MB's a second. In the "About this Item" area on Amazon's webpage for this device it says: "Up to 250 MB/s Transfer Speed". This is a USB 3.0 connection and I haven't tested it yet on a USB 3.1SS connection but I'm sure it will be faster than this. Anyway, I just wanted to leave this review because I was very impressed with the write speed of the Glyph BlackBox Pro External Hard Drive 7200 RPM, USB-C (3.1,Gen2) (20TB). The hard drive worked just fine but only for about 10 months, then the spinning disk stopped and even thought it was still within warranty the Data couldn't be recovered after I sent it back to the manufactures. They apologized and could only send me a new one but what good is it if there is no peace of mind with the drive.

Love these drives. They look great and very reliable. If you are looking for a quiet or cool drive, then look elsewhere. These drives run hot and are fast, which makes them perfect for video production. They are also stackable. Yes they are quite noisy, but if you’re simply looking for a solid, fast and reliable hard drive and don’t care about noise or heat, this drive is perfect for you.

What can I say the disk does exactly what they say ... on my MAC Book Pro the experience was plug and play ... it is going all of the time and the unit is quiet'

Been a great hard drive. Had it for exactly one year now. It's fast and has been reliable. Getting read/write speeds as advertised or better. It's powered and has a fan so there is a noticeable whiiir to it, but it's not terrible. It has a "G" icon on the usb hub which is surprisingly useful for quickly finding the right port in a hub.

glyph ist eine hausmarke. leistung, qualitaet und zuverlaessigkeit ungeschlagen. erste wahl bei ssd und hdd extern fuer mich. auch wenn 1 euro teurer, sind alle produkte von glyph jeden cent wert.
