Mont MarteLiner Brush Set for Painting, 5 Piece Detailed Art Brushes with Wood Handle

I just received these brushes and tried them out. I've been trying to get good swooshes for dot painting without success. The first time I tried the brushes the swooshes were already much better. With practice I think I can actually conquer the art of swooshing.

I thought I would like the larger holding area as I have bad hands but for me it doesn't really work very well. For some, it may be just what they need. That aside.. they're detail brushes. No better or no worse than any other detail brush. My thoughts: paint is too slippery. They rinse well. They don't absorb paint, just hold it. The ferrules are not nor have they come loose. The paint hasn't chipped but they have had minimal exposure to water as I rarely use them. It's a purchase I doubt one would regret but the larger finger area may not be the savior all are looking for.

Use them for watercolor detailing and I have found that they are OK but that’s what I’m saying I think they’re just OK the bristles split a little and that causes me some problems when I do my detail work otherwise they’re in my arsenal of brushes and they work well but I personally would choose to use an a Escoda 5/0 :-/ I’ve ordered one (Escoda) because theses don’t hold enough paint for a good straight line in my botanicals.

So far I like them a lot. A few of my artist friends have them so I thought I’d give them a try. It’s good to have tiny brushes for detail work. Can’t speak to the longevity but they’re good so far. Good value for the money.

This is only for the Detail/Liner set of brushes. The design of these brushes is fine, but the packaging leaves something to be desired. When they arrived the brushes had all slid to the top of the blister pack and the bristles were splayed and smashed with the exception of the rigger brush. This was the only one with a cover for the bristles.I did take them out and tried to smooth them with water but as soon as the bristles dry out a bit the splayed bristles pop out. Glad I didn't spend too much.

Fantastic Fine Rigger Brushes! Very Easy to hold for fine detail Painting. The "0" Rigger is my main Go To Brush out of at least 48 various Painting Brushes! I would Highly Recommend this set of Fine Artist Detail Brushes!Michael Tinsley

I love the handles on these brushes. They are easy to hold for those who have difficulty with their hands. It's a nice variety of lengths. Although I really just wanted the rigger, I'm sure I will find a use for the others.

Perfect for beginners. The durability was my only down fall. The bristles start to fray out. Do not regret.

This set is cheap $$ but pretty good value and the brushes work great for fine detail painting with the various small sizes. Well worth the small price. A good set in the paintbox.
