Sturdy, effective, easy to use and FAST
Sturdy, effective. Using daily, multiple runs (for 2 people drinking soda and iced tea each day) - its been a year now and it works great, cleans easily, makes ice so fast, easy to fill and empty, etc. Absolutely no issues with it. It does make a little noise - LOL - so it took getting used to ice drops at night - but not an issue at all. Would buy it again and again. If you had more people you may want a bigger version re: amount of ice per serving - but it literally takes only a few minutes to make a new set of ice. Its counter footprint is really nice - we have a teeny kitchen and it works great on what counterspace we have.

Great ice maker!
This ice maker was on my list and Amazon was where I thought to look first. The prices were great and were definitely worth the product that I received. The set up is very easy to perform and the ice is created within a couple minutes upon setup. The product is very fast and durable and can be placed anywhere for your convenience! Would recommend to anybody!!

Great for apartments, college students, people who camp… I love this machine!
I had to buy this because my husband and I are living in an apartment while our house is being built. The fridge doesn’t have an ice maker and I need ice. I purchased the black ice maker. It is one of the best purchases I have made. Ice is made quickly, the compartment for the water is large, allowing a lot of ice to be made, you can make small or large sized ice…it is just a very durable ice maker. It automatically shuts off if you forget to empty the ice from the machine but it keeps it frozen so it doesn’t melt back into the water reservoir. My only issue is that the ice will freeze or stick together and form big clumps. I make large batches of ice and put it in a container with a lid. To solve the clumping problem I just take it out and vigorously shake the container. That separates the ice. I wish that they made something like this when I was in college.

Does the job.
I bought this product because ice is more important to me in my water than the water itself. My refridgerator ice machine dispenses but does not make ice. I wanted to have ice upon demand instead of going to the store to get a bag. This product totally fulfills that need. Upon the first few batches out of the box there was a metallic taste to the ice cubes, but after about 3-4 hours of making ice that has been a thing of the past. When you use it after it has been off for a few hours/days it does take a few batches to make the right size cubes, and even after it has been running for hours it still might make a batch that is not quite the "Large" size. The ice is not dense and does melt faster than most ice, but that is because of how it is made. Since I use the insulated mugs (as does almost anyone) this does not matter. I have even used it in my shaker for some martinis and margs and not really noticed an issue either. On a day when I will be home for a few hours with down time I will leave the machine on and let it make ice. After the bin fills, I lay it out on a tray in the freezer and let it freeze hard and then put in my ice machine. The cubes are usually a bit "wet" when the are in the bin but once again that is because the design of the machine, freezing on a pan/tray before placing in ice maker works perfectly fine.Considering I always have a constant source of ice, do not have to buy $50 filters for my refridgerator and the quality of the ice I would say this machine is worth the $80 price tag. Not to mention when I use my camper I can use it so it is truly a multi-functional piece of kitchen equipment which helps to decrease clutter in my life.

Big Hit at Work! Making Ice like a Champ
I have a condition where I have to increase water intake, and I prefer my water with ice, so I thought this would help. This icemaker has worked great so far, the design is pretty robust and it makes enough ice to keep up with my 5 person office (I'm nice and sharing). This is a continuous circulation design, so as ice is made, it's dumped into a tray, which melts into a water holding tank, which is then recirculated in the freezing chamber on top.The freezing device consists of several rods with stubby extensions which rotate into a shallow pan of water which is filled via pump from the reservoir beneath the ice basket. The stubs of the rods submerge and as they cool, ice forms around them, making cup shaped cubes. There are options for small or large. My one worry was that the ice would not be very cold and would melt and break quickly, but the larger size cube is quite robust and solid. With the lid down the cubes last fairly long, enough so I'm not bothering to transfer them to the freezer to save them. If I kept the icemaker in a hot room or garage this might not be as practical, but it works very efficiently in an air conditioned office. As the small plastic basket fills, there's some sort of sensor that automatically shuts off the machine from creating another load, so it can be left relatively unattended. I haven't paid much attention to the scooping design which collects the cubes and dumps them into the basket, but there haven't been any problems with it so far.I use water from a filtered fountain and the cubes taste fine, perhaps even better than the water straight out of the filter. I have not tested with unfiltered water, but the water is so gross in my neck of the woods I would be afraid to damage it.I work around a lot of humming machines, so the noise is easy for me to tune out. It can be a little noisy when cycling, so if you're sensitive to that sort of thing you might want to put it in a different room. I honestly don't care either way, because the ice is convenient and delicious!Very glad I purchased it, and wavering on getting a second one for at home.

Wonderful Ice Maker
It's the best thing we have purchased. My wife and I love it, and the instructions on how to use it are pretty clear. It's very easy to operate and isn't really loud.
