Classic Kitchen 28 Cup Stainless Steel Insulated Hot Water Urn - Water Boiler for Instant Hot Water with metal spout

I've had many urns before, and use them because I drink a lot of hot drinks year round. Some have been expensive, and some have been cheap, but this is the first one that is worth every cent paid for it...and more! To begin with, this is NOT a coffee maker for those of you out there who are looking for that, so scratch this off your list if you're looking for one of those items. What it IS, is a wonderfully designed hot water urn that keeps the water at about 203 degrees and makes your hot drink so much better! The water indicator on the outside of the unit is the very first one that I've ever seen that actually WORKS. It really does show the level of the water which you can see easily, and it's accurate. It even tells you when to refill. The urn has two switches on the body of the item, one which is for "boil" and another which is simply for keeping the water HOT! (Keep the grandkiddles and the kiddles away from this!) When the urn is done boiling the water, the "Boil" switch shuts off automatically...you don't have to do a thing about it. And now for the reason that I REALLY love this urn. For those of you who are Orthodox Jewish as I am, it needs NO tevillah (toiveling, immersion in water in a mikvah) which means that it can be used right away! I had that question, and one very kind purchaser looked it up for me in the manual (which was written by ENGLISH speakers and is easy to understand). However, the box is what told me that no tevillah is needed, and I actually looked up the website of the manufacturer and found it right there that no tevillah was needed. It even went into the reason for it and gave the Rabbinical authority for it! That in itself was worthwhile. In addition, the staff was very responsive and answered my emails very quickly and completely. I would buy this product over again and give it ten stars if I could do so. Whether you buy it for its Yom Tov mode, or because you want to have an excellent hot water urn, you won't go wrong with this excellent product. Twenty years from now when it wears out (I should live so long - I'm 73) I'll happily buy this over again. So would you!

I use this product for the Sabbath & holidays, & guests. The double wall keeps the water really hot, even after 24 hours. The faucet is easy to use and, after a month, does not drip. The best feature is that there's no bad taste in the hot water. A great feature is that you can add cold water when necessary & the urn will reheat the water on its own. Great looking in stainless steel & I really enjoy using it.A note to the manufacturer would be to add a higher base as if you need place a tall cup under the faucet, you may spill hot water when you retrieve your full cup .

This is a basic hot water tureen to keep water at tea and coffee temperature. This is not fancy, and contains no frills, but is solidly constructed. The weakest part of these tureens tends to be the spigot and this one is no exception. The spigot is made fully of plastic, and is unlikely to hold up to long term frequent use. The top pieces fees a little more solid, luckily, and all in all I think this is a good cheap hot water canteen. I have found that even the more expensive models don't last all that much longer than the cheaper ones, so this one seems like a decent choice.

We bought it specifically for passover and it was perfect. did the trick.

Mine must be a lemon or garbage. I Purchased this in April but didn't use until a bit later. Item takes almost 6 hours to boil, and after a few weeks it started taking 9 or 10 hours now it never boils.My luck its past the Amazon return period. But I would keep away from this item!

I used the urn for daily use and Shabbat. After only 3 weeks the spigot started leaking. Although I returned I will be buying again, because there are not too many stainless steel urns with a shabbat mode.

28 Cups! Well I guess it depends on what size cups you are using. No where in the description did I find the actual capacity of this urn - in oz, or liter. Perhaps it is a good functional urn, but it was too small for what I was looking for. Make sure you know the actual capacity of it (which I never did as I returned it immediately because it was too small for me), and if it is good enough for you then purchase it.
