KFK Hippo Head Floating Pond Decoration

Where to start...first off my hippo is a "dark brown" not gray and does not look like the one in the picture. There are some slight variations. The picture makes him look much, much larger. He is 16 inches long but only 7'1/4 inches at his widest point and that is at his cheeks. He is only 3-1/4 in. tall at his snoot and that is the tallest...not very big at all. He weights 14.6 ounces. Typical made in china lacking quality. Shipping cost $13.95 and the hippo was $13.99. Mine also came with a scratch along the top of his head that had been painted over but noticable because it goes against the grain. I would not recommend this item at all.

Both our guests and I love our new hippo in our B&B's pond. He is tiny, but adorable. My only complaint is when I went to wash him about a month after he sat in the pond, I started to scrub some of the algae off him and it began to take off the finish. Now he simply looks like he has a bit of a battle scar on his rump. He's adorable, but it is a bummer that the shipping was so high on such a small and light weight piece.

I love this hippo! Looks very realistic. We ordered it for an Africa night party for our pond, but will keep him in there all the time because he looks so cute.

I will agree with the previous poster, it is quite "non chalant". As if it's sitting there in your private marsh land area waiting to spring... waiting to become an Open Mouth Hippo Head!But, between the Open Mouth and Close Mouth, I still recommend the Open Mouth for pure bang for your buck.
