The box for this kit does not appear as pictured, however all components are in a plain tag board box and the instructions with illustrations are very clear. 2 batteries are included. Eventually, you may want to purchase additional individual components as more skill is acquired with the experience in constructing each new design. I would recommend this kit for ages 10 and older unless 1:1 grownup supervision is available for younger makers. Excellent kit for teaching sewable circuits!

This is a great starter kit with all of the material you need to begin working with electronic and programmable textiles. I purchased this kid for my 8 year old daughter and we needed a little more in-depth tutorial than the kit came with, but it was easy enough to find step by step tutorials for kids on-line.

I got this for myself for adding glowing LED eyes and accents to some handmade stuffed animals. I had fun making them. The instructions are easy to follow and my LEDs lit up correctly upon completion of my projects. I liked the kit so much that I have bought more LEDS, conductive thread, and battery boards to continue making things light up on my handicrafts.I have not done anything more advanced like programming arduino, but I found the basic circuits easy to make and common sense. This would be a good kit for teaching circuits to children at the same time as teaching them how to sew.5 stars

This is a great kit for someone like me that wants to learn how to add lighting to clothing pieces to make a statement or add to a costume. I look forward to creating a really neat Halloween costume this year that makes my friends and family say, "Wow! How did you do that?" Always great to learn a new craft or technology - however you would label this!

I love little STEAM activities as they're fun to do and my son takes a lot away from the experience. This set proved to be one of the better activities we've done as it kept his attention, was interesting, and the end product was something my son continues to play with. You get LEDs, button switches, and battery components with toggle switches to use as part of your sewed design. The conductive thread acts as the wiring so it's easy to really make your ideas come to life.The only downside to the set was the battery pack had an issue where the connection wasn't being made properly until I bent some metal for two of those components. It only caused me trouble because it happened initially so I thought I sewed something wrong until we tested LEDs individually.Love this set.

Don't let the goofy felt figurines fool you: this is a very serious (but fun!) kit that introduces you to the features of the Lilypad microcontroller.The manual takes you through a variety of projects, from adding basic lights using LEDs, sewing conducting wire and attaching a battery holder, to programming the Lilypad for effects.Everything is included, a Lilypad, four battery holders and batteries, LEDs, switches, conductive wire, a needle, thread, color felt, and a manual.Good for children 8 and up, but most 8 years old will need a lot of assistance (which makes it an excellent family activity). A wonderful present for any nerdy 12 year old -- or crafty geeks of any age.Note that additional components are available separately on Amazon. Highly recommended.

Bien utile pour initier ma fille à arduino, nécessite l’aide d’un adulte car la notice est assez laconique. Il vaut mieux avoir déjà une petite expérience d’arduino pour être à l’aise avec le modèle le plus avancé, mais il y a des tituos faciles à trouver.
