PHILIPS LED 40W A19 4-Pack WhiteDial Multi-CCT (5000K) 450 Lumen (5W = 40W) Dimmable Frosted Flicker-Free Light Bulbs

I've been using LED bulbs for 9 or 10 years now, and I've tried many different ones trying to find those that would work well for a particular place. Of all I have tried, these are the clear winner. First: The color temperature can be set to different levels, 5000k-4000k-3500k-3000k-2700k, by a setting at the bottom of the base. It is quite surprising how much difference there is between the settings. So, you can adjust these, experiment, and find the perfect color temperature for where it is being used. Second: They are dimmable from 0 to 100%. Many other dimmable bulbs I have used don't work well at a low dim: the bulb intensity will fluctuate with time, sometimes shutting off completely. These bulbs don't. When set to a certain dimming level, they keep the intensity level constant. Also, unlike most other bulbs, they will start up at a low dim above a low reasonable threshold. Third: These really are flicker free as far as I can tell. Even at a low dim level, I can detect no flicker at all. Other no-flicker bulbs often do flicker, especially at a low dim. So, these bulbs check all the boxes I have for an LED. When I buy new bulbs, these are the ones I will mostly get. They do only seem to be available in 40 and 60-watt equivalent sizes. Some of my ceiling lights need more than that, so I will still use others in those lights (Esp. the Bioluz 100-watt equiv. dimmable bulb). For all else, these Philips bulbs will be my choice.

I’m so pleased with these bulbs. I get frequent migraines and recently discovered that many of the led bulbs in my home flicker (record the light on slow-mo to test) and that may be contributing. I’ve installed all four of these bulbs, at two different temperature settings, and none of them flicker in the slightest. I’m also impressed with the CRI. At both 2700k and 3500k, the light is clean and fresh and colors look clear. My husband agreed that the light just seems pleasant. The dial feature is great too and easy to use. I’m definitely purchasing more.

Where have these been all my life. My wife and I are sticklers for light bulb hue to the point that we’ll buy new bulbs at a vacation rental because one has a color temperature that doesn’t match the rest. Cozy / rustic rooms need 2700 or 3000k. Clean modern rooms need 3500k. Laundry, bathroom and garage use 4000 or 5000k. I’ve always had a hard time finding the right color bulb in 60W equivalent and it was even harder in 40W. Found these and they’re a game changer in both brightnesses. We now use these exclusively and they’re not even significantly more money than other brand name bulbs. Switching temp is super easy with a key or screwdriver on these 40W bulbs and there’s an even easier switch on the 60W. The bonus is I now bring a pack to vacation rentals and know one bulb can handle any setting! I’m so happy with these I’ve bought extra in case for any reason Philips ever discontinues these. I hope they don’t.

Not truly flicker free. Although I can tell it's a higher quality of light than some other no name brands. But the flicker free only means the visible flicker to the human eye. But just because it's not visible doesn't mean it doesn't affect you. So in other words you can't see the flicker, but its still there. There are other flicker free brands out there. You can tell the flicker is still there by using the slo mo video recording feature on your phone. Then playing it back.

They do what they're supposed to do.

I wasn’t sure what color temp I wanted in my bed/theater room. This was a great solution even if they seem too bright and won’t dim. I hear most won’t dim without a special dimmer though. The other thing is I’m pretty sure I hear a very faint buzzing rarely (could be my tinnitus). My next purchase will probably be the SceneSwitch bulbs. They dim 3 times without a special dimmer.

I purchased these bulbs based on the trusted brand name Phillips is, first and foremost. I was super specific in what I wanted, a 40W daylight shade of light, in a dimmable bulb for one of my small lamps. I found what I wanted in this product! The selection of lighting shades is excellent just in case my mood changes and I want to switch it up and the ease of switching the tone up is nice. Fits the lamp well, energy efficient too.

A light bulb is a light bulb, right? Wrong. I went the cheap route first and bought no-name light bulbs that hurt my eyes and flickered like in a haunted house. Enough! These Philips bulbs are soothing on the eyes, give the right brightness and tone of light, and even make me look decent in the mirror. Pay a couple of bucks extra for Philips. It's so worth it.
