Protect your RV
This is a pretty heavy duty surge protector. Depending on the season it is either being used on the boat or on the camper. It great for camping!!! The handle makes it super east to plug in. I like that the information center lights up and tells me what's going on. At least this way my husband doesn't have to find the issue(s). The nice thing about this one that it comes with a rain shield to protect your outlet. My 30 amp surge protector doesn't have one and it a pain to plug in.What I can tell you that is most important for you to know is NOT having this surge protector could cost you in the long run. Having this will protect your recreational vehicles including boats. There are different circumstances that cause surges. We learned the hard way at the ***. It is not mandatory but I always air on the side of caution because I went through a lot when I didn't have a surge protector for the travel trailer.

A Critical Device for Every RV
Every RV owner worries about power surges, lightning strikes, faulty RV park wiring, and other issues which can cause serious damage to the RVs electrical system. This device will first advise if the RV park wiring is faulty, and will protect against power surges. It comes with a water-resistant clear cover to repel most rain, and it has a hefty handle to simplify the surprisingly difficult task of plugging and unplugging the unit from a 50 amp power pedestal. It includes a series of LED lights that tell if the power is OK, or if there is an open ground connection, or if the polarity of the wiring is reversed. Thankfully, I have not had occasion to confirm that this will protect against a serious power surge or lightning strike, but considering how heavily-made this unit is, I feel positively about the unit's ability to protect my motorhome.

Electrical “peace of mind” at the campground now!
If you’re into the RV scene, you are no doubt familiar with the fact that the utilities at some campgrounds can be hit or miss. In some cases, the electrical leaves a lot to be desired, so I am very happy now to have the added protection of this 50 amp surge protector! I really like that this unit shows whether or not something is wrong with the electricity at any given site. This is great because now I can connect this unit first, and if the lights show something is wrong, I can request a different site before connecting my RV!I really like the overall design of the unit, and it seems to be well built and heavy duty for protecting the electrical system of my motorhome in the case of a power surge or lightning strike. I also like that the clear cover is there to keep water away from the connection from my RV as well. Overall, the unit seems to be well designed and high quality, and it definitely is nice to have for my RV electrical peace of mind!

Good peace of mind for powering your RV
This review is for the POWSAV RV Surge Protector 50 amp with Waterproof Cover. Surges protectors are a must have item when you are hooking up to external power sources with your RV. You never know what sort of power supply you are connecting into. This surge protector seems pretty solidly constructed. It has lights to let you diagnose any faults or defects from the power source. It also has lights to let you know that the your RV is surge protected. The clear cover is water resistant when it isn't plugged in, but it is definitely not water proof. It is dual voltage for 120/240V. It is rated for 50A, and load it up to see if that was accurate.
