I purchased this for my son who is gonna be on his way to sicley this book has just about everything in it including survival my thought was well maybe you won't have internet so this book would definitely come in handy so much useful information

We have used the DK books in the past and found them to be very helpful regarding sights, museums, etc...this was the latest edition I could find of all the Sicily travel guides. It is excellent (although, as most DK books, it weighs quite a bit for its size!).

I have traveled all around the world and I always buy DK Eyewitness books for the places I am going. They begin with some history right up to current times. The places they point out are never a disappointment. The practical info in the back in a must. There are sections on the local food, drink, festivals, etc. There are even common words and phrases in their language. I love them.

I gave this guide as a gift to someone who was traveling to Sicily, and so I simply glanced a it before giving it away. The photos are lovely, and the information seemed up to date. I look forward to sharing this book later as we're traveling together. I purchased a different guide for my Kindle, which I am enjoying presently.

I brought this with me on a trip I took to Sicily and it was great. The maps and detailed explanations of the sites, monuments, and buildings really helped make already amazing Sicily be even better. Great book!

Great information on sites and culture. Nothing on how to deal with electrical systems for cell phones and tablets.

But undersized text makes reading difficult, better to have less content and make it readable

Following in the excellent DK Eye Witness series this book is a comprehensive guide to Sicily.It contains a wealth of interesting information about this fascinating island explaining all about its history,culture and customs. Very good indeed and well worth purchasing if you are considering a visit to Sicily.

Lacks detailExample being a full page about Etna... a giant “map” which isn’t really a map. Some vague comment about where you can walk from, which isn’t clear on the “map”.Absolutely useless!! Without further researching this guide is not a guide, it’s less than you could get from 5mins on google

So far the guide has only been used for planning a trip to sicily. We will only really know how good it is when we get there. However, it has helped us identify places we want to visit (lots) and given us ideas on where to stay. It is not as detailed as some guides but that means you don't get swamped in too much information.

This is a great book because it shows you small labelled photos of all the important things to see at each site and you can plan your days accordingly. It is so much more interesting and easy to take in than guides that have lots of text and few pictures.
