The perfect muzzle for my Chug
I was nervous about buying the small size muzzle for my chug, because so many people seemed to have trouble with the small size being too small for their dogs. Her head, measured from the base of her jaw and around behind her ears was 12" right on the high end allowed by the small size. But I've had problems with sizes being too big on her before, since she's rather more petite and narrow than a 100% pug, so I went for it.This muzzle fits her perfectly, in fact, I had to tighten it up a bit. If your dog measures on the high end of the size allowance (12") and has a much wider face than my dog, though, I would get the medium, to give your dog's face a little more room. As I said, her face is very flat, but more narrow and delicate than that of a 100% pug.She can see, drink, lick, and pant with the muzzle on, and it allows me to treat her through the hole in the front. She can't eat or bite with the muzzle on.She doesn't seem to mind it very much, but she can get the muzzle off if she is left unattended for more than a few minutes, but muzzles are not meant to be worn without supervision, so that doesn't bother me.I have included some pictures of the fit, the shape of my dog's head, and the handy diagram on the back of the package that shows how to measure for the fit. Sorry for the bad image quality, the camera on my phone is not good.

Great muzzle for Pugs
Our pug recently had taken to eating questionable items on walks, so we purchased this to prevent/deter her from being able to eat things while on walkabout. It has worked very well as a deterrent and by making it difficult, but through the nose hole she can still pick things up with her tongue. Although now we can see it as she has to work at it. I wish the nose hole were a bit smaller. We've had it for several months and I'm very happy with the quality, look, and durability of the muzzle, as well as the fit and comfort for my pug.Update 5/18 - Lost the original and was so happy with it I got the same one as a replacement. These things are durable and work great!

Fits my big-headed American Bulldog pretty well
It was very difficult to find the right muzzle for my 95 pound American Bulldog because of his short snout and under bite, so after trying several other types, I bought this item based on customer reviews. The item just fits (I have the top strap as long as it can go), but it does fit and it's easy to attach. Other customers noted that they were able to give their dog treats through the front hole, but my big boy's nose is larger than the small hole so that's not so easy to accomplish. Sure he looks like Hannibal Lecter in it, but it does the job and it seems more comfortable on his face than other types of muzzles. One con however is that on a couple of occasions he's shaken his head so hard that the muzzle actually came off in public. He's not dangerous but I was certainly surprised. To overcome this I periodically check to make sure the top strap is centered and so far so good. I would buy this product again.

Slips off dog's head easily because his ears are too floppy to hold the strap in place
I'm not sure about this one...it has potential but just doesn't work for us. Here's why I'm giving it a 3-star rating - I wish I could give it a 3.5 rating:- I measured my dog's head & ordered the large which is what this page said was the correct size. My dog is a pug/schnauzer mix with an adorable underbite & nose about 2" long...so not as short as a pug or bulldog but a lot shorter than a typical lab-type dog. Large is the right size for the circumference of his head according to the guidelines. However, I still haven't been able to fit the muzzle in a way that my dog can't wiggle out of - I have adjusted over & over. My dog can get it off because of his ear type. He has soft floppy ears that lay flat on his head. The muzzle uses the ears to hold it in place as you can see in the photos. My dog's ears don't stand up enough to hold the back strap & it just slips off his head when he pushes it with his paw. I tried adapting it to attach to his collar but that didn't work either. So,unless your dog has big, strong ears that stand up straight & don't bend easily, you may have the same issue that we do do.- The muzzle has a lot of potential...the materials are high quality & should last a long time. I like the hole for the nose & the fact that it doesn't force the jaw closed...which can cause a dog to overheat & actually cause death if the ability to pant is not restored in time - never never never use a tight muzzle on a dog for more than a few minutes...and best not to use that style at all. The ability to pant & breath freely are a very good thing about this muzzle.- There are no instructions with the packaging so I had to check this page to make sure I was putting it on properly...instructions would be nice. So, maybe this will work well for your dog's head shape & ear style, but it seems like that back strap would slip off a lot of dogs' heads. This needs a better, safer way to prevent it from slipping off the dog.

Cavalier King Charles - Perfect!
When my Cavi was coming home from major abdominal surgery at Gulf Coast Veterinary Services in Houston (the one on tv), I bought 3 different muzzles. One was the simple Velcro wrap on snout model. He used his paws to pull it off in less than 30 seconds. I also bought a soft black leather one. He put up with it, but it interfered with his vision and he couldn't hang around outside comfortably. I also bought this Canine Friendly Short Snout one. It is perfect. He knows he has to put it on to go outside. Of course he has also learned the phrase "take it off" when he comes inside. He turns around, looks up at me and wags his tail. One trick I learned was to attach the loop to his collar first. Then I pull the mask over his nose and snap the neck strap also through the loop. This keeps the mask secure and it goes on quicker. If you need to custom fit the hole, you can hand sew small stitches. I'm buying another one, since he still digs his nose in dirt and it needs ti be washed.

Doesn’t stay on
Was looking for a comfortable muzzle to keep my short-nosed dog from eating everything he finds on the ground but also so he could breathe. This does not attach around the neck and shoulders - just the back of the neck and u see the chin. Put it on my dog and he immediately and easily pawed it off his head. I have tried to jerry-rig it with Velcro to his harness or to itself but haven’t figured out how to do that.

Effective for short snout dog
Fits well on my male shih tzu. Very effective he doesn’t growl or try to bite with it on. Seems comfortable for him with no tight straps. Fits my dog who is 15 lbs

Great Product!
So far this product seems to be working really great for us. We bought this muzzle for our bulldog because he had tends to eat a lot of snow in the winter time and then has accidents inside the house so we got this as a way of helping prevent him from eating snow which also causes dogs to become dehydrated. So far so good! Great product!

Excellent for flat faced doggies.
Excellent. Nit many muzzles fit my boston terrier and the one i had previously he was able to remove. This one looks less threatening but also fits him well. Even has a hole to feed treats.

Great for flat face breeds
This is the perfect muzzle for my flat faced frenchie who is not so keen on going to the vet. He is able to see, move around, breathe and receive treats while wearing this but is also unable snap/bit at the poor vets who are just trying to help so this is perfect. He only wears it for short periods while at the vets and it is relatively easy to put on and take off when he is sitting still.
