The IR function never worked. I wrote to the seller and told them, and they sent me a second unit, but that didn't work either.I have owned a number of programmable IR remotes, they all work basically the same way. The appeal of this model (based on its advertising) was that supposedly all the buttons on the TV side could be programmed with an IR function: unlike many air mice, that only allow the four colored buttons and the power button to be programmed, this unit can actually have the volume buttons programmed to control volume by IR on your audio system. Except it doesn't work. I have a Panasonic TV and a Sony audio system, and the only function I could successfully program the remote to perform was "volume up". Power on/off on either device and volume down simply would not work: I went through the programming sequence repeatedly, with fresh batteries in every remote, and even though the device indicated it had learned each function, it simply wouldn't work to control my TV and audio system. Clearly the IR has some functionality on the device, but it simply can't learn the basic functions I need. The air mouse seemed to work ok.I can't fault the company's customer service for trying to remedy the situation with me patiently, but 2 out of 2 devices don't perform the advertised function that I needed. There are lots of Bluetooth air mice out there, but very few have IR capability. In spite of the claims for this device, it doesn't have useful IR capability either.

I have bought several versions of this MX3 USB Air Mouse remote, and I believe that this iteration is by far my favorite. There are several features that this remote utilizes that previous versions that I bought do not seem to have. The most notable is that the red TV button allows you to switch between your TV controls and the controls for the device that you have plugged into. I have two of these exact remotes. One is plugged into my A95X Android "TV" Box, and the other I have plugged into my portable pico Excelvan 100WM Projector.The Air Mouse is a convenient and easy to get used to control feature that works well on both Windows based PC's and Android based devices. I like that there is a button that allows you to disable the Air Mouse so that if you are watching a movie and accidentally bump into the remote it won't show a mouse cursor on the screen, or pop up the controls for Netflix or whatever media center based app you are using to stream content. The full QWERTY keyboard on the back of the remote is another main feature as to why I purchased this type of remote. It allows for easy typing for search bars as well as can be setup for controlling game controls on various emulators. I really enjoy that these remotes seem to use gyroscopic sensors so depending on which side of the remote you have flipped up is the side of the remote that actually responds to inputs. No errant key presses from the keyboard if you accidentally strike one of the keys with your palm.The remote is easily programmed from any other remote by simply holding the red TV button until the upper LED starts blinking. You then point the desired remote, in my case the TV remote and program each button. I was able to setup Power, volume, mute and map directly to the power, volume and mute buttons of the remote. Remapping inputs was as easy as programming them to the 4 colored auxiliary buttons on the bottom of the remote.If you have a media center and want a media remote to compliment your setup, I highly recommend this version of an MX3 Air Mouse Remote.

For the price, it's great.I purchased this, as my wife was getting frustrated at the numerous remotes required to use our living room's entertainment system. So, I purchased this to try to streamline things for her. And, for the most part, it does exactly what I need it to. In less than 10 minutes I had it setup to replace the old mouse/keyboard remote I had for the HTPC, as well as the remote for the Surround Sound system (Volume controls and HDMI Input selection). However, the only function I could not get working, was the power button for the TV. Maybe, I can play around with it some more and figure it out, but for now, it just won't sync right.But, for the price, this is thing is impressive. If you want a universal HTPC remote (with a keyboard) on a budget, then I highly recommend it!

the remote works great.air mouse works, but is not that precise.two cons.i saw that some people was complaining about the sturdiness of the buttons better say, clicking action, and is true, at the begining is ok, but after a couple of minutes of setting up, u start wishing that the button wasnt that hard.second thing. IT DOESNT HAVE A STOP button, so if u want to stop whatever u are playing, u cant, u have to pause or find a workaround to exit.kinda a weird right ? PLAY STOP PAUSE FF RE are the most common commands, anyway.for 10 dollars is great, and has the keyboard which for setting passwords or urls is great.i recomend the product

Bought this for my raspberry pi unfortunately my tv doesn’t support ece so must have a remote. So glad I bought one as a air mouse and a kodi remote. Plus this remote has IR control also with this function I could even give up the original tv remote so I don’t have to be the guy with like 30 remotes. Haha so great ! With the air mouse function rasbian would be more interactive and more like a computer than a little tv box ! I even tried the remote as a retro game controller in retropie worked like a charm also. So to sum up everything works as it should be. Great air mouse / remote .
