Baywatch Target Exclusive [Blu-ray]

This movie is hysterical. Just gut busting laughs all the way through.

I've probably only seen a few of TV episodes back when that was on. The film does a great job of not taking itself too seriously. It's a fun mix of comedy and action that really reminds me of the first (and maaaybe 2nd) Beverly Hills Cop movies, as far as how well it switches between the two genres. One minute it's goofy; the next, it's serious action/drama. In words, this dichotomy sounds like it would be too much of a contrast to work. Nonetheless, the flow from scene to scene is smooth, with the movie never forgetting to not take itself too seriously while dishing out fun action scenes.Based on the previews (and my prior "meh" attitude towards the series), I wasn't expecting much. So, I was very surprised when I caught myself laughing out loud within the first five minutes. I know it was within the first five minutes because, as surprised as I was, I stopped the movie to check the run time.The cast all did a pretty good job and were well cast for their roles. Priyanka Chopra plays a good "badguy". The Rock (I'm sorry, but why have removed that moniker from his name?), clearly has a fun time with The Hoff's namesake protagonist character. He also is really adept at the action/comedy style that Eddie Murphy was so great at. This is why it brought back a good-ole-days feeling of watching Beverly Hills Cop.And, just as with Taggart and Foley, The Rock and Zack Effron have good chemistry in the role of enemies who must come to terms with each other to fight the badguy. The ladies hold true to the original series (somewhat derisive) name: Babewatch. However, besides being nice screen candy, they also bring life and depth to their characters. Kelly Rohrbach (the blonde), in particular, does a great job of looking like the ditzy slow-mo camera'd blonde and then contrasting that with both good portrayal of emotion as well as strength.Then there's poor Ronnie Greenbaum, who plays the "not quite of the beach mold" character. But, again, he does a great job of both enjoying the fun of being the misfit when the movie is in comedy mode, as well as switching to can-do teammate when the movie is in action mode.Remember, the movie has fun with itself and all of the cast do a great job of moving back and forth between action and comedy. No, it's not a serious crime drama. No, it's not the funniest movie you've ever seen. Yes, it does make an hour and a half pass quickly and enjoyably with some good laughs and fun action scenes.If you're like me and weren't a fan of the series, don't skip this (as I almost did) based just on the title. If you were a fan of the series, The Rock does a good job of bringing a crime-fighting, bay-saving Mitch Buchannon to the movie format. But, from the previews, you should know this movie isn't the serious drama style that the series was.Oh ya, and the actual "Hoff" does make a brief cameo (in a truly Luke and Obi-wan moment, no less). So, if you're one of his die hard fans, you'll want to watch it for that scene.

Just watched this in 2022. I actually enjoyed this movie. Especially for the first half of the movie, it follows a very generic (but proven to work) formula of action comedy.I actually really enjoyed the side character Ronnie (the comic relief nerd) and his chemistry with CJ (the sexy girl in the team). In the first half of the movie, Ronnie contributed much more laughing points comparing to the relationship between Matt and Mitch. In a movie that is filled with beautiful blonde ladies and muscular bros, Ronnie's story is definitely something refreshing, and we can all relate to it. And his comedic acting is totally on point.The movie is just as other review says. If you want a ridiculous and over-the-top action comedy with an insanely good-looking cast, Baywatch is definitely the movie to go to. I mean, heck, I was looking for some stupid and mindless fun in watching this film, not researching social theories in a cinematic commentary. For what it's supposed to do, I'd say that it achieved its purpose perfectly.

I was not a big fan of the TV show... in fact, I have never seen an episode...but this was really funny as all hell and had a great story... I really enjoyed it and it has not received its due respect...i would highly recommend this movie!..watch it and enjoy!

I didn't like the bay watch tv show but I love the movie the Rock dominates the screen as always and who could ever forget the vomit comet. Hope they come up with a sequel

No spoilers!It's a comedy, it's funny and has a vague storyline. This movie is basically an amazing homage to both Baywatch series, but appears to have been written for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.I was not expecting much, but actually enjoyed this movie. It looks like it has been written for Dwayne and Effron and they both shine during the film.This is the first time that I have seen anything in a Zac Effron movie, but has changed my opinion and I actually enjoy his movies now.I particularly enjoyed the references to the stars previous highlights, being brought forward to a new generation.The best part of the movie for me may have been the co-stars. It has given us the chance to invest time and emotions into upcoming stars.Little mitch is a nice touch too.

Really up for this film as I usually love anything with The Rock involved in it and grew up watching Baywatch. So I started watching and was fun for around the first 15 minutes... Until the insane cussing began and use of arrogance that has nothing to do with Baywatch and whilst I normally have a pretty good sense of humour to me after the opening period the humour used in this movie became real repetitive real fast I'd normally be the first to defend a rock movie that was awful but this time for me there is no upside! #verypooratbest

Good movie, picture quality is very good on bluray, its a bit Corny but so are most family orientated movies 🎥 these days. For the price (2 for £10) or £7 separate it's well worth it. My movie came with a digital download code, but I've not tried it yet, but even without the code it's still worth it 😀 I'll not go into the film as I don't want to spoil it for you 😉 Lots of laughs and a bit of drama 🎭 This was the extended version 😁

I love this film. It's kinda dumb, it's got a pretty predictable plot and it's cheesy but if you are looking for a film that will make you laugh out loud on a Saturday night with your friends and family this is the one. It's genuinely hilarious, and I don't know one person who has seen it that doesn't think it isn't.

What's not to like about any movie with Dwayne Johnson in it. Very funny movie and totally tongue in cheek mockery of the Baywatch thing. I loved it.
