I was excited to use this because I had a lot of green algae bloom in my 50 gal tank. I was happy to find out my UV light works as other reviews mention that sometimes is was defective. The filter has a small indicator so you can tell if the light is on. There are two power cords, one for the filter and one for the light that has a switch on it. The sponge filter at the bottom does a great job at picking up small debris and keeping small fish safe. It has a very powerful water flow and circulates a lot of water in my tank. The filter has many different sections, making it easier to clean. So far I’ve had no problems with the filter itself or the light and it’s been 2+ months. It includes an air hose which seems flimsy but works and you don’t have to hook it up to an air pump, it pulls in the air as long as it’s above the water. Downsides: Not long after I set this up, I noticed lots of white hair algae was growing on the wall of the tank where the filter outlet was pushing water. And the water flow was significantly reduced. I cleaned it and found more algae inside, not any green algae though. After a few weeks of cleaning and algae treatment, there has been less algae bloom and the filter has needed less frequent cleanings. Overall: This is pretty tall, fits in my taller 50 gallon tank. Great price, and looks like it will last. Would recommend using this if you have serious green algae bloom, and especially if you pair it with a chemical algae treatment. The filter has a indicator so you know if the light is on and the cord for the light has a switch to turn it on or off. Easy to install and use. Very quiet as it’s a submersible pump.

This is an amazing product! I didn’t think anything would help with my green water from my little 40 gallon outdoor goldfish pond! This product did! If only the backing with the suction cups worked better with my Rubbermaid type of pond, but I didn’t dock stars for that…I balanced it on a rock and it’s just fine! It took 3 days and voilà!!! Clear water and I can see the fishy’s again! Thank you!!! I didn’t think it would work since you can’t see the actual UV light! Just the little light indicating it’s on! I didn’t even have to run my other pump, just this one! Pics to show difference are attached. I never leave reviews hardly ever but had to for this product! I’m so happy!! Thank you! I am going to have it on 2-4 hours daily for maintenance now.

Easy to install, clean, and use. We have ours in a timer for 6 hours a day and it easily keeps our turtle tub (150gallon of water) clean for the week between water changes. Moves water really well, my slider turtles love the ripple waves it produces. Compact. Better than higher priced models we have tried.

I'm always rather skeptical about quick fixes for things, but given I'd been battling a case of the greens in a tank for almost a year, I gave in. I haven't seen the water so clear since I first set it up. I definitely have some maintenance to do since most of the plants didn't make it, but it is spectacularly clear now. Only took 3-4 days. I would rate it 5 stars, but the aeration feature doesn't work anymore. It is still pumping out water so I'm guessing it works otherwise. Will be saving this for future emergencies!

un happy that I used there rufus and was told This had adjustable water flow, according to the instructions it does not,, I dop not recommed this product, false advertisement

Wow wow wow! Our tank suffered a horrible algae bloom with green algae and you couldn’t see anything past an inch from the inside of the glass. We have a 55gal fish tank and it cleaned it up in 24 hours! It did exactly what its job was to do. I’m impressed I thought it would take 3-7 days. The only down falls I would say are that it’s kind of noisy. Also it is a very strong flow! Definitely made for a big tank but it’s easily adjustable and didn’t harm my fish. The filter is obviously working because there’s a lot of debris on it after 24 hours. It has gotten rid of the smell also! I don’t necessarily prefer the 2 cords because I don’t need it except for the Uv light, so running just the filter isn’t necessary for me. I’m seriously so impressed with the product. Worth every penny.

The uv light with filter are working fine, the unit size makes me happy , the body is very skinny save my tank size, green water are remove very quickly in my case it only take about 1 and half day to rip the green, easy install, easy to take care and clean the pre filter sponge, noise not loud but it dose making sounds, only one I don’t like was there are no uv light timing control , this very no convenient, I have to use my own timer switch

So far so good. Easy to install, fairly quiet, decent amount of current from the power head but not too much. After about 3-4 days aquarium water went from opaque green to almost clear! This is in a 60 gallon salt aquarium ***update— five months later bulb has burnt out, did not run it daily Disappointed!
