I wanted this to work so bad for my kids but ended up sending it back; I wish there was a bentgo where the lid came off completely (no hinge opening) as I’m not super keen on hand washing after every use (kind of an odd shape for the dishwasher)

Its big in size.comparments are deeper and larger.can fit a big sandwich easily as 3 slots.but can turn it Into 4 slots if needed.easy to clean and works great for 6 year old lunch.

Like other reviewers mentioned, the locking mechanism for the bento box doesn't snap shut properly even if it isn't full. It is a fairly weak closing mechanism and will look for a different model in the future. To prevent it from opening up accidently, we put the bento box into an exact fitting lunch bag and zip the lunch bag up so the bento stays closed.Otherwise, the size for our 8 year old is good. The divider inside helps when packing different types of lunches and it's very easy to clean because the insert tray can be taken out.
