The best ice cube tray you will EVER buy!
I am a huge ice fan... my friends actually tease me about it all the time. We have a fridge that makes ice but we have had it repaired 11 times in the past 12 years. After spending $150 to $200 each time, I finally refused to pay for it again. This meant I had to go on a ice cube tray research exhibition. ;-) I looked and read the reviews for several ice cube trays. I finally stumbled upon a video that compared about 5 ice cube trays and the OXO Good Grip No Spill Ice Cube Tray was by far the best one. I purchased five trays and the Rubbermaid Ice Bin to put them in once they were frozen. Now that I've made a few rounds of ice... here goes. At first, it is somewhat awkward dealing with the silicone lid that covers the tray after filled with water. But, by the time I filled the 5th tray, I was already getting the hang of it. The video on Amazon makes it look very easy, but for me I didn't want to use the faucet. Instead, I poured water from our filtered water line in the door of our fridge and then I poured that in the ice cube trays. I am sure filling it over the sink would have been much easier but that didn't really work for my situation. Once the tray was filled I had carefully placed the lid over it and moved it over the sink to make sure any of the excess water would drain off. When I tilted the tray to let the water drain, many times it would drain all or most of the water from one or both of the first two ice cubes. I found that when this happened I just did not have it sealed correctly. Once they were all filled, I moved them to the freezer stacking them up on each other. Each time I did this there was no spillage so that part worked great. THE PROBLEM: Since I stacked all five of them on top of each other I had issues with two of the five trays. Tray one and two was great. You barely have to twist the tray and the cubes come out very easy. You can either push on the ice cube and it rocks right out of the tray or you can dump it over an ice bin or bowl. The problem happened with trays three and four. In both cases after 12 hours, these trays were not frozen. But, tray five was frozen. I think having them all on top of each other diminishes the amount of cold that can get to those two trays. That is why tray 5 can freeze cause it has nothing underneath it. So, if you are wanting to make a lot of ice, I would suggest trying to stack no more than three at a time. Another possible issue is space. I really wanted to put this on a specific shelf but the freezer door would not shut. For me, the problem was the part of the freezer that drops the ice down sticks out causing the tray to hit it. So, I had to move things around in the freezer and there is really only one shelf I can put the trays on. We have a side-by-side fridge/freezer which means it a narrow space. So, if you need an ice cube tray and you are tired of doing the balancing act, this tray will keep the water in and the freezer smells out. As long as you don't stack too many at one time, you will LOVE this tray.

very good
these are more expensive but they are worth it, worth every penny they are 4 times better than any other ice tray fill easily, drain off the excess with ease when you crack out the ice the flap directs the ice down preventing cubes from going flying the flap is easily detachable for cleaning and easily re-attached the flap makes these stable when stacking and leak proof unless your careless the flap keeps the air out of the icecubes reminds me of the tupperware era instant classic these are

The best ice cube tray you can get
I really enjoy this ice cube tray. You may ask its just an ice cube tray so whats so good about it. I like how there is a rubber cover on top that encases the ice tray so water doesn't spill out of the freezer. And with the cover on top, you can get rid of any excess water overfilling the tray so that you can put it into the freezer without any spills and also even out the water for the ice. Also I like how you can easily push out of the ice by pressing down on each one and with the cover on top, you don't touch the ice with your bare hands. Its a good size, seems very durable and high quality and would recommend this over other ice cube trays and/or ice machines.

Hard to fill, must use something w/pour spout to fill. Nice ice!
Hard to fill, have to use a small container with pour spout or water will fill the outside reservoir. Great little ice cubes - especially for bottles with narrow spouts. Easy to get the ice out once formed. Keep top silicone cover on, turn upside down while holding silicone cover on. Run warm or lukewarm water across bottom, turn back over. Ice will come out easily.

5 year review
I use a LOT of ice. I actively use these trays every single day. I have 3 of them and put the released frozen cubes in an ice container to store in the freezer, then refill them. They are super easy to fill, just run water in them and the overflow will work itself into the empty cubes. When all the empty cubes are filled and the entire tray is overflowing, lay on the silicon cover from the attached side and roll it over the rest of the tray. That way, you'll work out all the air bubbles. I've put these trays in the freezer lying down flat, on their side, and upside down (as a test). Everytime...no leaking and perfect ice cubes. The only thing that I could possibly complain about it when the silicon cover gets a little dirty, the frozen cubes tend to stick after twisting the tray to take out the cubes. So you need to pull off some of the stuck ice cubes from the cover. But this is the perfect time to clean the cover. Take it off completely, clean it with soap and hot water, dry it off, then spray a paper towel with some cooking spray (I use avocado oil), then wipe the bottom side of the silicon cover. Just a little bit, you only want a hint of cooking oil. This will prevent the frozen ice cubes from sticking. There, good as the as the day you bought them. Finally a product that will last years and perform every single day as expected without fail. What's not to love?

I have bought and used SO MANY ice trays. And they're always disappointing. This one surpassed my expectations. The ice turnes out pretty good and it's easy to get out even without running the tray on hot water. The silicon cover makes it so you can empty the extra water easily and stack stuff on top. Also the tray is pretty big so the yield is good. I love it and I'll buy another one next time I have to order stuff.

I use this ice tray with my S'well water bottle. The long thin ice cubes it creates are ideal to fit in the mouth of the S'well 500ml bottle. I've recently ordered a third S'well bottle so this tray is seeing a lot of use this summer. The lid reduces the possibility of spilling water after filling up. Like all Oxo items I own it's well made.
