5-Stars! I liked it so much, I bought 2! Excellent Projector! Yaber has done it again! I’ve owned and reviewed a dozen+ projectors, including the previous Yaber Pro Y8 model. I’ve been a returning customer with Yaber for years, and I can confidently say that the NEW Yaber Pro Y9 2023 model is an overall improvement, and perhaps one of their best projectors to date! The most notable is the new 160000:1 contrast, and 450 ANSI chip, which makes this projector bright, and in-depth with color! It's also noted that I’m able to focus the screen image much easier with the Pro Y9 than the Pro Y8. The picture quality is very crisp and clear!To put the Pro Y9 in context – I’ve recently purchased a new 85” OLED TV, and the Pro Y9 produces a bright screen that is comparable at a fraction of the cost! (check out the video results below for validation).Important – The Pro Y9 features an overall improvement with the included video profile settings (ie: standard, vivid, soft, user, etc.) The Pro Y9 allows you to customize the video settings with the “user” profile, so you can calibrate the video settings; accordingly. I noticed this feature limited in the previous Pro Y8 model, so I’m happy to report that everything is here with the Pro Y9 2023 release. Also, the profiles are very distinct from each other, and worthy to cycle through to check-out for their various applications.Moreover, the aesthetic design of the projector itself is slick and very cool looking. Compared to the Pro Y8, the actual shell of the Pro Y9 looks more aesthetically pleasing and beautiful with its white top, and gray bottom. I know this part won’t mean much to some, but considering I’ve reviewed nearly a dozen of these things, I’d say this is the best “looking shell” in my overall collection. In many ways, this is probably my best projector to date. Here’s why:Similar to my other reviews, I ran several tests to include key stone correction, tilt, short-throw, image color correction & customization, aspect ratio correction, Bluetooth connectivity, and lag testing for gaming consoles (PS5 & Xbox series S); respectfully.I'm pleased to report that all features worked incredibly well, and there were no issues. There doesn't appear to be any notable lag with modern gaming consoles. I projected on a 120-inch screen, and the image quality looked flawless as if I was in a movie theater! No video stuttering during streaming (Please refer to the video and images for reference).It's also noted that the built in speakers are actually pretty good. You can also connect it directly to a Bluetooth headset or sound bar. Personally, I connect my speakers to it via headphone jack for a (hard-wired) connection, while indoors. However, outdoors would be perfect for Bluetooth to support portability. The projector is small, compact, light in weight, and the fan is quiet.Here’s the thing – the fan is super quiet on this model. I actually didn’t even notice it. This is an important factor, because sometimes fans on projectors can be distracting as it competes with noise, inadvertently creating undesired “ambience”/“white-noise” in the room. This is not the case with this projector. No worries.The projector is easy to move around, and perfect for a camping trip or a night under the stars (you will need a power source).In addition to gaming, I used a few sources to include the usual: 4K streaming (firestick), Bluray discs, DVD discs, vintage laserdiscs, and vintage VHS tapes. I tested a little bit of everything because I wanted to see how the comb-filtering worked for any upscaling, especially for old media formats. The image quality looked superb in all formats, and did not disappoint! You can also mirror and stream directly from your smart phones. Amazing and convenient!The projector features an AV composite in, an auxiliary line in, 2 hdmi ports, and 2 usb ports. I give the projector 5-stars! You will not be disappointed, and can purchase with confidence.Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised on the amount of improvements with the Y9. It took me a couple of nights to play around with all the settings and become familiar with the upgraded features that best suit my home setup. If you enjoyed the Pro Y8, then you’ll love the updated Pro Y9. The upgraded chip improves on the brightness, and provides smooth play-back. Considering, I’ve reviewed nearly a dozen projectors with Yaber and other companies, I would consider this model to be top-tier for 2023. I liked it so much, I bought 2! I purchased the YABER Pro projector to replace a high quality projector that I have used in my office to present images, documents, videos, etc. to patients for 15+ years. I have attempted replacing my previous projector before, but the image quality of the newer projectors I tried were generally not as good as at my old one. Based on the positive reviews of the YABER Pro and the excellent price I decided to try again and I am glad I did. I have been very happy with the quality of the picture and ease of use. Because I am using the projector in my office I chose to connect it directly using a HDMI cable, which was easy to set up. I also want to note that my office doesn't have windows so I am unable to comment on what the quality of the image is if being used as an outdoor projector. I don't need to move the projector, but if you do it is very light and comes with a nice padded carrying case that would make transport easy. I am also impressed with the range of screen size available and that the quality of the picture remains excellent in all the size ranges I have used. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to like the YABER Pro Y9 projector, but in the end it came up short for my needs.PROS: Well packaged, well made, fairly clear instructions, keystone control works well, inputs are good, excellent value at a Black Friday price of under $200, relatively quiet, and fairly short throw capability. Video projected was sharp and clear (see below) and bright enough out to an image size of about 8' to 10' in dark rooms or at night. I think that the projector would be fine for its primary intended use of projecting video for viewing.CONS: Not nearly as bright as I personally needed for low ambient light room (one use I have is projecting images on canvases or walls for tracing and creating art). Colors appear somewhat washed out even in a dark room, even after adjusting to their best in the settings. There is also a high level of automatic contrasting applied that somewhat reduces the clarity and detail of the input video source -- while this can be adjusted to some degree, I felt that it did not represent the source image/video as well as I required for my own unique purposes.As it didn't meet my specific picture requirements, I chose to return it and will look for another projector.

I have had this projector for about 2 weeks now and I am very happy with my purchase. The picture is bright with vibrant color. I am currently using a white screen indoors (haven't tried it outside yet) and even with the afternoon light coming into our living room, I am still able to see a quality picture for a projector. When the light is dim, this projector provides an amazing image for movies. I have read some reviews that mention focus issues, but that is generally expected from projectors unless you are willing to spend the money on a very high end product. This projector comes with a very nice carrying case along with an HDMI cable, remote, manual and light gray projector screen. I have used the light gray screen indoors and it helps a lot during the day to enhance any black or dark images. The menu is very user friendly and the remote is useful. If you are looking to jump into the projector market for indoor viewing or having fun in the back yard, I would highly recommend this projector.

Worked great for a year but it now has a purple burn spot on the center of the screen and leaving anything paused for even 5 minutes gets the image burned onto the screen for a while and there’s no way to actually replace the damaged parts.It’s to be expected with cheap projectors like this, but at least it works well enough and the burn spot isn’t distracting enough so that I can continue using it until I purchase a better quality projector.
