FDA approval is not listed on the packaging. Since saffron is not a medicinal I don't really think FDA approval would be required.

I just checked the product pictures and the pictures show 2g (0.07 oz) which I got the exact same product that’s on the pictures. The listing doesn’t say it is a .4oz tin. You can choose from 0.07 Ounce, 0.4 Ounce, or 28.35 gram. I hope this helps.

I've not seen the other product but this is certainly a top-notch product. The aroma hits you when you open the container and the flavor is better than any other Saffron I've used to date. Highly recommended.
