DK Eyewitness Milan and the Lakes (Travel Guide) Flexibound – April 18, 2017

I am a fan of Eyewitness travel books. Slim volumes, good detailed information on the sites/locations covered, nicely organized. If looking for in depth, more comprehensive information this may not be the book for you, but, if looking for top sites/attractions this is perfect! Very happy with this purchase.

With 248 Pages of valuable information, this travel book is just what I need for my upcoming trip this summer!I have traveled to Italy many times, but have yet to experience Milan and the Lake district. This revised 2017 edition book covers the region's past history, as well as:gives itinerary suggestions depending on your length of stay,covers all of the main sights in Milan,provides store locations for the main Fashion Houses in the fashion district,gives an overview of all three lakes (Lake Como, Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore),suggestions on where to eat drink stay and how to get around,and much more.It even has a small city map tucked into its back flap, along with two pages (p. 247-248) with basic Italian phrases as a quick jump-start to the language. The amount of information packed into these books can be overwhelming for some, but in my experience, this will be the only book you need for you travels. I have always loved these DK Eyewitness Travel books, both for personal and business use. If you're in the market for a travel book, do not hesitate to buy one of these, they will not disappoint. I cannot wait to put mine to use.

I love ALL Eyewitness Guides for their specially devised Walking Tours, Cutaway maps, huge amount of illustrations. The ruggedness of the book material makes it a perfect companion on trips.

I'm a big fan of the current DK Eyewitness Travel series of books. This version is a little bit older, but it seems this is fine as Milan doesn't change to fast. This book is printed on coated paper, but his makes the book heavy for all day touring. The text is laid out in 3 column format which makes the text rather small. These books are full of color photos, bird's eye illustrations of particular locations, and cutaways and floor plans of major attractions which is their big appeal to me. Each book has a pull-out map in the inside back cover. I like these guides as much after the trip as before the trip. These books are better as touring guides than as a source of hotel and eatery locations.

Just enough info, small enough to bring along in a backpack or purse

80% of this is Milan, the map shows zero lakes, not a good book for the Lake District

Planned all my site seeing trips using this books. So glad I had it!

Another great DK Eyewitness travel guide. The information and insight in the book made my making my travel plans easier. The size of the book also made it convenient to travel with and use when WiFi is not an option. The pullout map was helpful as well.

I like reading this book before trip,to big to bring with me in limited luggage

The Eyewitness Travel series is consistently excellent. I didn't use the Lakes part of this one, as they were not part of our trip, but referred to it frequently in the city of Milan, where it proved to be extremely helpful.

A Great travel guide packed with great, practical information, colour photos and illustrations. The DK eyewitness guides are the best travel books. I used to buy Lonely Planet or Fodors, but not since discovering these.
