Love Metabo HPT tools. I have many of their tools. This sander is perfect for project work.

Long story short: I like it. Works well, sips battery, pretty light unit by itself. However, it gets heavy with the 8Ah batteries, but the grip options (top or side) make up for it. Still, it wants to tilt toward the battery side when you've got a big boi in; seems to be made for smaller batteries. Doesn't bog down unless you're sitting on it, which you shouldn't do. Comfortable too - my hand doesn't feel like it's shaking for hours after use. Dust bag works well too. Short story long: I cam from a crappy TackLife corded RO sander that I loved. It ran 9,000-13,000 OPM. Metabo HPTS's corded version runs 9,000-13,000 OPMs. DeWalt's cordless and corded versions run 8k-12k OPM. So I expected this one to run 9k-13k like the corded version even though the OPM weren't listed (they are now - you're welcome). So I was a little disappointed unboxing it to see the 7k-11k OPM on the side. Almost sent it back, but after deliberation (and wanting to get back to work), I decided to put it to work. I've got other Metabo HPT tools, and I've been very impressed. I also figured if I needed faster removal, I should just lower the grit of the disk rather than relying on the sander to burn off material with a 320 grit like it's an 80 grit just due to speed. I also work with mostly softwoods - hardwoods might benefit from the extra 1k-2k OPM the other brands/models get you. But it turns out I was right - even with the higher grit papers I was removing material too quickly on some of the edges. So the lower range of OPM is actually well-suited for my application. Oh and comfort - I sanded for a few hours on some spruce, and I didn't even think about it until now, but my hand didn't feel shaky for hours like it did with the TackLife. So that's pretty cool. Having a dust bag that actually catches is pretty cool too; the TackLife had a dust box, but it seems like the fan wasn't powerful enough to push the sanding dust in there. I think that covers everything. A little pricey at $100, but Metabo HPT is quality in my experience - comfortwise, it's already better. I expect it will hold up in the long run too, especially with a brushless motor. Batteries, well... I've given in to the dark side, what can I say.

Love it , vacuum attachment is the ultimate combo, on the other hand , the slide on pinch bag that comes with it . Gotta go man it does nothing really , Overall METABO sander is the BOMB! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

This is my first cordless sander. I previously purchased a drill driver and impact driver set by Metabo and this sander uses the same batteries. I have used Hitachi power tools for many years and recognize the brand as having some of the best made tools on the market. The name changed to Metabo HPT but they are the same tools. This sander runs smooth without the vibration that other sanders have. Others have complained about the switch being hard to use but it just takes more effort to turn off and on. The dust bag picks up pretty much all the sawdust. A great sander!

So far so good. It actually comes with a vacuum connector that works which was a big surprise. Replacing a dewalt that crapped out after only 1 year of moderate use. Seems to be much better than competitors. Will see how long it lasts though.

Finally a tool that has all the accessories needed to connect to my dust collection so I can keep my shop cleaner without sawdust all over everything. Fits great in the hand and no cord also, can anyone ask for more I think not!

This sander works quite nice. It's a little hard for smaller hands to hold. If you own the batteries already (Metabo/Hitachi) it is definitely the way to go.

Tried it out and it works great. No wandering whatsoever. The on/off switch I like. No complaints. See how it works when I actually use it on the job site.

Been trying to buy a Hikoki sander for a while but quite difficult to get hold of and expensive. This Metabo branded product is the same, works with Hikoki batteries and is cheaper. Very efficient sander with dust collector that actually works.
