Durable but Lots of Small Pieces
I have been teaching my 16 month old his letters using the learning resources jumbo letter magnets. I got this product because it had the upper and lower case versions of each letter together.Anyways, for those wondering about the size, like I was, the upper case letters are like 2 inches tall. The short lower case letters like "r" are 1 inch tall. All the letters are maybe an 1/8 of an inch in thickness. The "holes" in the letters, like b, A, and p, come out. I definitely have to supervise my baby with these as some of the letters, like i and r, are pretty small and thin. The shapes of different objects are a nice bonus. They are also a good safe size, like at least 3 inches wide and tall. He already enjoys punching the letters and shapes out of their boards.Lastly, I was a little disappointed that my letters came blue in color on red boards. They don't show up as nicely as the image on the box with the yellow letters on blue boards. But I've gotten used to them now. Also, the shapes were yellow on blue boards, which was different from the image on the box which showed them as red shapes on yellow boards.

the texture of these puzzle pieces is so comforting!
I'm not the kind of person who ever notices texture - but my baby and I really both love the feel of these puzzle pieces in our hands! It's really a lot of fun to push the pieces out...and put them back in. I can imagine this will be a pain to clean up and to keep all the pieces together, but for now, just taking out 3 letters at a time (for my 18 month old) has been working out great. This is definitely a 5 star product, but if I was going to improve on it at all, it would be nice to have this type of item in more than just the three colors, for variety. I thought it wouldn't be so great because the puzzle pieces are in sillhoute form (can't spell), but for my young child, that actually makes it easier to match the shape with its outline, as there aren't distracting details. Great toy and totally worth the money. I think it really is cheapest on Amazon (as I did try to find it for less and couldn't).

Good for learning
Bought these to use for kindergarten and while they are great and my 5 year old loves these, they do have a bad smell to them.

You can never start too soon with learning the alphabet!
I wanted to buy both capital and lower case letters, and that is possible with the individual sets that Lauri makes. These "Alphabet Puzzles Boards", though, combine puzzle objects with the letters. The physical manipulation challenges are still there (putting letters and object shapes back in the forms), but now we have the associated items that begin with each letter of the alphabet. Very handy, educational, and fun for my 19 month-old grandson. (I always take out the small shapes within the letters to avoid accidental swallowing.)

A nice learning tool
I got this for a group of preschoolers and they are little too young for this. I think if only 2 or 3 letters were presented at a time, that would work better, but all of the pieces at once is too much. There are several small pieces, so you have to keep an eye on that.

daughter loves this!
This is a great product for my 2.5 year old. She doesn't know all the letters or pictures yet, but she enjoys putting the pieces back together. The letters w punch outs (a, b, d, p, o, etc), seem to be tight enough that the little pieces don't just fall out. We only play with this for twenty minutes at a time, I want it to be a fun activity and so far she seems super excited when it comes out. She asks for it!

My young one has a great time with the puzzle- the fact that it has a foamy feel and is easy to place is helpful for his 2.5 year old lil fingers.Wish they would have used another form for the J and the Y.Used JET for J - looks like a plane and YAK for the Y and my kids keeps calling it a cow.but other than that I like.

My son loves these letters!
My son is 5 and on the autism spectrum---he just loves these (especially the moon)! I dumped all of them into a bin (forget trying to fit them back into the box). They are great since there are big and little letters together...along with animals, objects, and shapes. Great fun, but no fun to clean up when they are scattered all over :)
