One of my New Year's resolutions was to be more mindful of the environment. LA just started a city-wide compost program, and I decided to take advantage of this. But I've tried composting before and it's messy, smelly, and attracts bugs and rodents. So I picked up a couple of step-on lidded trash cans and snazzed them up with these cool stickers. (pro tip: spring for the blue and green bags to keep it clean....). Now separating my trash is a breeze and I can feel good about throwing stuff out.

We have three identical small garbage cans on our kitchen counter, which confuses guests (and our small children). My brother made some pretty nice handwritten labels on pieces of black masking tape about five years ago after getting in trouble for using the wrong cans (!!), but they were starting to look shabby. I wanted something nice to put on our stainless steel cans, and these are it! They are made with some kind of plastic/aluminum film that should clean easily. I was able to move them around a bunch while trying to get them straight and they still look great (no wrinkled edges) and adhere well, despite all the times I removed them and re-stuck them on. Now when people get confused, at least it won’t be because I didn’t try! It will be because we have a very convoluted process ;)

Great item...A little too small for my needs.

I bought three new trash cans for the house and put these on there. Now there’s no question which trash goes where. They stick on perfectly, the adhesive quality is good, and these are a good price! They work perfectly, and look good, too. Perfect size: big enough to see, but not too big.

Some members of my household struggled with identifying what discarded items go in which bins based solely on the colors of the lids so I had to help them by providing some visual cues. These, combined with another set of somewhat similar decals, have really seemed to do the trick. No more excuses. It’s been well worth the purchase.

Finally a sticker that will stick to my textured garbage bins! People were always asking which was which. Because our bins were brown, and I wrote on them in a black marker, you couldn't read it. These are great, and look better than just writing in marker anyway.

The stickers were a little smaller than I had anticipated, however, they are here very well to my garbage cans. I did pretreat the area using an alcohol pad to make sure they would stick well.
